  • Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Delivers first blow of NLCS

Freeman went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and a double in Monday's 2-1 win in Game 1 of the National League Championship Series against the Brewers.

Freeman got the Dodgers on the scoreboard by hitting a roof scraper of a solo home run during the top of the sixth inning off Chad Patrick. Freeman nearly hit his second long ball of the game in the top of the eighth, doubling off the wall in right field before ultimately being stranded. Freeman looked strong in plate appearances against righties Patrick and Trevor Megill on Monday and will draw another matchup against a right hander in Game 2 on Tuesday with Freddy Peralta scheduled to toe the rubber for Milwaukee.

  • Quinn Priester SP | MIL

Brewers' Quinn Priester: Fires four strong innings vs. LA

Priester allowed three hits and three walks while striking out one over four scoreless innings Monday in Game 1 of the National League Championship Series against the Dodgers. He didn't factor into the decision.

Priester followed Milwaukee's opener, Aaron Ashby, who tossed a scoreless first inning before stepping aside. The 25-year-old right-hander bounced back from a tough outing in Game 3 of the NLDS against Chicago, delivering four scoreless frames despite navigating around some traffic on the bases. Priester was assisted by an incredible 8-6-2 double play in the top of the fourth inning, helping him out of a bases-loaded jam. He also managed to induce a key double play to end the fifth, exiting his appearance in a scoreless game.

  • Blake Snell SP | LAD

Dodgers' Blake Snell: Shines in NLCS Game 1

Snell picked up the win after allowing one hit while striking out 10 over eight scoreless innings during Game 1 of the National League Championship Series against the Brewers on Monday.

Snell relied heavily on his offspeed stuff throughout Monday's dominant outing and pounded the strike zone, firing 69 of 103 pitches for strikes. He faced the minimum through eight innings, with his only blemish occurring in the bottom of the third on a leadoff single by Caleb Durbin, who was later wiped away after Snell picked him off. Snell has been fantastic through three postseason appearances, posting a 3-0 record with 28 strikeouts and two runs surrendered over 21.0 innings.

  • Brewers' Isaac Collins: First postseason start Monday

Collins is starting in left field and batting eighth in Monday's Game 1 of the NLCS versus the Dodgers.

Collins entered two games off the bench during the NLDS against the Cubs, but this will be his first start of the postseason. To make room for Collins in left field, Jackson Chourio is sliding over to right field and Sal Frelick is playing center field.

  • Blake Perkins RF | MIL

Brewers' Blake Perkins: Absent from Game 1 lineup

Perkins is not in the lineup for Monday's Game 1 of the NLCS against the Dodgers.

Perkins started in center field in four of the five NLDS games versus the Cubs and participated in all five contests, but he will begin Monday's contest on the bench. Sal Frelick is shifting to center field and will be flanked by Isaac Collins in left field and Jackson Chourio in right field.

  • Ryan Kreidler 3B | MIN

Pirates' Ryan Kreidler: Booted from 40-man roster

The Pirates designated Kreidler for assignment Monday, Alex Stumpf of MLB.com reports.

The transaction clears a spot on the 40-man roster for the addition of waiver claim Will Robertson. Kreidler was a waiver claim of the Pirates himself in August but never saw any action with Pittsburgh.

  • Will Robertson RF | BAL

Pirates' Will Robertson: Claimed off waivers by Pirates

The Pirates claimed Robertson off waivers from the White Sox on Monday, Alex Stumpf of MLB.com reports.

Robertson went just 9-for-70 with a 2:27 BB:K over 75 plate appearances between the Blue Jays and White Sox in 2025 in his first action at the big-league level. However, the 27-year-old slashed .289/.387/.571 with 20 homers at the Triple-A level this season and can play all three outfield spots, so the Pirates will hope he can nail down a job as a reserve outfielder.

  • Quinn Priester SP | MIL

Brewers' Quinn Priester: In line for bulk relief outing

Brewers manager Pat Murphy said Monday that there's a "71 percent" chance of Priester pitching at some point after opener Aaron Ashby in Game 1 of the NLCS, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Although Murphy didn't explicitly state it, Priester is likely to serve as the Brewers' bulk reliever Monday. The right-hander started Game 3 of the NLDS against the Cubs but failed to get out of the first inning, yielding four runs while recording only two outs. Priester was terrific for Milwaukee during the regular season, however, posting a 3.32 ERA and 132:50 K:BB over 157.1 frames.

  • Brewers' Jackson Chourio: Hamstring is 'close to 100 percent'

Chourio said Monday that his right hamstring feels "close to 100 percent," Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Chourio missed most of August with a right hamstring strain and had to be removed from Games 1 and 2 of the NLDS after the hamstring flared up on him. While it appears Chourio is on the mend, the Brewers are still likely to ask the outfielder to take it easy on the basepaths so as not to aggravate the injury. Chourio is slashing .389/.421/.667 with one home run, two doubles and six RBI in five games this postseason.

  • Aaron Ashby SP | MIL

Brewers' Aaron Ashby: Serving as NLCS Game 1 opener

Ashby will be the Brewers' opening pitcher Monday in Game 1 of the NLCS against the Dodgers, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Ashby struggled as the opener in Game 2 of the NLDS against the Cubs, yielding three runs over 1.2 innings. However, lefties slashed just .193/.299/.241 against the southpaw during the regular season, so it makes sense to use Ashby in this spot to face Shohei Ohtani and likely Freddie Freeman. Quinn Priester is expected to provide bulk relief for the Brewers in Game 1.
