Holmes (fibula) will be shut down from all activity for 6-to-8 weeks before beginning a rehab program, Jorge Castillo of ESPN.com reports.

Holmes won't need to undergo surgery to address his fractured right fibula, and the Mets are optimistic that the 33-year-old will make it back to a big-league mound before the end of the season. However, manager Carlos Mendoza said that Holmes will need to go through a spring-training-like buildup once he's cleared to resume activity, which will add another month or so to his timeline. All in all, it seems like the right-hander could be sidelined until late August.

O'Hearn was removed from Saturday's game against the Phillies due to right quad discomfort.

O'Hearn went 0-for-1 at the plate Saturday before his quad forced him out of the game in the fourth inning. More will be known regarding the severity of his injury after the Pirates' medical staff completes its evaluation, but any missed time for the 32-year-old would likely result in extra starts in the outfield for Billy Cook or Nick Yorke.

Manager Pat Murphy said Saturday that Yelich (back) is "trending in the right direction" and could be available to play in Sunday's series finale against the Twins, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Yelich will sit out Saturday's game -- his fourth consecutive missed start -- but is scheduled for full participation in pregame activities. The Brewers will wait to see how he feels afterward before deciding on his future availability, but a good workout Saturday would go a long way toward helping his chances of returning to the starting nine soon and avoiding another trip to the injured list.

The Cubs reinstated Wicks (elbow) from the injured list Saturday and optioned him to Triple-A Iowa, Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports Network reports.

Wicks has been dealing with inflammation in his forearm and elbow since the early stages of spring training. He began making rehab starts with Iowa on April 18 and has since turned in a 5.48 ERA and 1.78 WHIP to go with an 18:10 K:BB through 21.1 innings. He'll stay put in the minors despite being given a clean bill of health, but with Matthew Boyd (knee), Justin Steele (elbow) and Cade Horton (elbow) all sidelined, Wicks could be called back up to the big leagues if Chicago's rotation depth is tested further.

The Brewers selected Strzelecki's contract from Triple-A Nashville on Saturday.

Strzelecki returned to the Brewers on a minor-league deal during the offseason and has begun the 2026 campaign by posting a 3.92 ERA and 1.19 WHIP alongside a 21:4 K:BB through 20.2 innings in Triple-A. The 31-year-old righty will now return to the majors for the first time since 2024 and will presumably take on a middle-relief role with the Brewers.

The Brewers optioned Crow to Triple-A Nashville on Saturday.

The Brewers won't need Crow's services beyond the spot start he made Friday, so they'll send him back to the minors in favor of Peter Strzelecki, who will provide extra bullpen depth. There's still a strong chance Crow will be promoted for future starts this year, however, as he owns a 2.61 ERA and 0.77 WHIP in 10.1 innings through his first two starts in the majors.

The Mets recalled Gerber from Triple-A Syracuse on Saturday.

With Clay Holmes (fibula) beginning what figures to be a long stay on the injured list, Gerber will return to the big leagues in a corresponding move to add depth to the Mets' bullpen. The 29-year-old owns an unsightly 8.10 ERA through 10 innings at Triple-A this year, but he struck out five batters across two shutout frames during his lone MLB outing of the season.

Holmes suffered a fractured fibula during Friday's game after getting hit on the leg by a comebacker. Manager Carlos Mendoza said after the game that the right-hander's injury will keep him out for "a long time," but he won't need to undergo surgery to address the issue and isn't expected to miss the rest of the season, per Laura Albanese of Newsday. No replacement has been named to take over Holmes' spot in the rotation just yet, but Joey Gerber will come up from Triple-A Syracuse in a corresponding move to add depth to New York's bullpen.

Stephenson isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against Cleveland.

Stephenson will pick out a seat on the bench Saturday after going 0-for-3 with a sacrifice fly during Cincinnati's win in Friday's contest. Jose Trevino will start behind the dish and bat eighth while Stephenson rests.

Moreno isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Rockies.

Moreno will get a chance to catch his breath after going 2-for-5 with three RBI and a run scored during a win in Friday's series opener. James McCann will handle catching duties and bat eighth.
