Torres was scratched from Wednesday's matchup against the Diamondbacks.

Torres was slated to bat eighth and start at second base for Wednesday's affair against Arizona before being scratched. However, with Masyn Winn (thumb) being a late insert into the lineup, Torres will begin the contest on the bench.

Abrams is back in the lineup for Wednesday's matchup against the Phillies, Mark Zuckerman of Natsjournal.com reports.

After being scratched from Tuesday's game with left side tightness, Abrams is back in the lineup, batting fourth and playing shortstop on Wednesday. The 25-year-old has slashed .286/.366/.530 with 17 homers and 57 RBI in 328 plate appearances this season.

Winn (thumb) will start at shortstop and bat sixth Wednesday against Arizona.

Winn sat out Tuesday's contest due to thumb soreness and was originally set to miss another start Wednesday, but he'll now return to the lineup after checking out fine before the game. The 24-year-old has recorded a hit in each of his last seven games, going 11-for-28 (.393) with a homer, five RBI and six runs scored during that stretch.

The Mets reinstated Mauricio (thumb) from the 10-day injured list Wednesday and optioned him to Triple-A Syracuse, Andrew Tredinnick of The Bergen Record reports.

Mauricio had been on the shelf since May 3 with a fractured left thumb. After beginning a rehab assignment last week and going 5-for-14 with one walk, two stolen bases, three RBI and three runs in four games between Single-A St. Lucie and Syracuse, Mauricio has been deemed healthy but will wind up sticking around with the Mets' Triple-A affiliate.

Baldwin isn't in the lineup for Wednesday's game against San Diego.

The lefty-hitting Baldwin doesn't typically retreat to the bench whenever Atlanta runs into a left-handed starter, but after going 0-for-20 with 13 strikeouts over his last five games, he'll step out of the lineup with southpaw JP Sears on the mound for the Padres. Joey Bart will start behind the plate and bat seventh while Baldwin sits.

Rushing (head) will start at catcher and bat eighth in Wednesday's game against the Twins.

After he was removed prior to the third inning of Monday's 2-1 win after taking a foul tip to his catcher's mask, Rushing sat out Tuesday's 12-3 victory while the Dodgers put him through a second round of concussion testing. With Rushing exhibiting no symptoms of a concussion two days after his early exit, the Dodgers feel comfortable having him return behind the plate for the series finale Wednesday. Rushing should continue to serve as the Dodgers' top backstop until Will Smith (neck) is ready to come off the injured list.

The Cubs designated Roa for assignment Wednesday, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.

The transaction makes space on the roster for waiver claim Bryse Wilson. Roa was a waiver claim himself last month, and he's turned in a 7.71 ERA and 20:7 K:BB over 11.2 frames at Triple-A Iowa.

The Cubs claimed Wilson off waivers from the Phillies on Wednesday, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.

The Cubs' pitching staff has been hit hard by injuries, so Wilson could be used either in the rotation or as a long reliever. Wilson tossed two scoreless frames in his one appearance for the Phillies this season and holds a 6.29 ERA and 58:21 K:BB over 54.1 innings at the Triple-A level.

Tucker (back) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Twins.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts already said prior to Tuesday's 12-3 win that Tucker's back issue would keep him out for the remainder of the series with Minnesota, so it's not surprising that the outfielder is on the bench for Wednesday's finale. Alex Call will draw the start in right field in place of Tucker, who is expected to take part in baseball activities prior to Wednesday's contest. If Tucker responds well to the workout, he could draw back into the lineup during the Dodgers' series in San Diego, which begins Friday.

Church is not in the lineup for Wednesday's contest versus the Diamondbacks.

The left-handed-hitting Church has now been on the bench each of the last three times the Cardinals have faced a southpaw. Lars Nootbaar will shift over to center field Wednesday, and Nelson Velazquez will cover left field.
