The Cardinals recalled Saggese from Triple-A Memphis on Tuesday.

Saggese was just optioned Monday, but he's back a day later to absorb the roster spot vacated by Ramon Urias (elbow). The 24-year-old Saggese could see some starts at third base against lefties while Urias is out.

The Cardinals placed Urias on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with right elbow lateral epicondylitis.

It's "tennis elbow" in layman's terms. Urias did miss a bit of action during spring training with what was simply called arm soreness at the time, so it's possible this is an injury that's bothered him off and on since then. Thomas Saggese is taking Urias' spot on the active roster.

Scott is slated to start Thursday's series finale versus the Rockies at Coors Field, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Scott had been on track to make his second turn through the rotation in place of the injured Kodai Senga (back) on Wednesday, but he'll wind up getting pushed back a day in the schedule along with the Mets' other starters after Tuesday's game was postponed due to inclement weather. The 26-year-old righty is coming off a strong outing this past Friday, when he limited the Angels to three runs (two earned) on three hits and no walks while striking out eight over five innings.

The Phillies designated Richards for assignment Tuesday, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

Richards was with the big club for only a few days, allowing one run with a 5:3 K:BB over 4.1 innings. His removal from the active roster clears a spot for Jhoan Duran's return from the injured list.

The Phillies activated Duran (oblique) from the 15-day injured list Tuesday, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

Duran is ready to rejoin the Phillies' bullpen after missing more than three weeks of action with a left oblique strain. The hard-throwing right-hander did not go out on a rehab assignment, but he should nonetheless go directly back into the closer role for Philadelphia.

Gray (elbow) has resumed a throwing program, Mark Zuckerman of NatsJournal.com reports.

It's the first bit of throwing the right-hander has done since he was diagnosed with a right flexor strain in late March. He will be brought along slowly in his rehab before being evaluated for a potential return to the Nationals' rotation.

Beeter (forearm) has been cleared to resume throwing off the mound, Mark Zuckerman of NatsJournal.com reports.

Beeter was placed on the 15-day injured list a little over a week ago because of right forearm soreness. An MRI came back negative, and Beeter has taken a big step forward with his rehab with the resumption of mound work. It's unlikely he will be ready to return when eligible May 8, but he should be ready shortly thereafter. Beeter has essentially served as a co-closer with Gus Varland this season and should return to that role once he's deemed physically ready.

Garcia has been diagnosed with a minor sprain of his right hand/wrist, Spencer Nusbaum of The Athletic reports.

Garcia suffered the injury during Sunday's game against the Brewers, forcing his removal. The infielder said Tuesday that he's day-to-day and will not go on the injured list, but he's not in Tuesday's lineup versus the Twins and seems likely to miss additional games. Curtis Mead will receive an uptick in playing time at first base for the Nationals for as long as Garcia is shelved.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Monday that Betts (oblique) is on track to face live pitching in a simulated game Thursday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

If Betts experiences no setbacks with his strained right oblique during the upcoming workout, Roberts suggested that it could be the final step before the 33-year-old heads out on a rehab assignment. Because he's been on the shelf since April 5, Betts will likely need at least a couple of games in the minors to regain his timing at the plate. Once he's deemed ready to return from the 10-day injured list, Betts should settle back in as the Dodgers' everyday shortstop, resulting in Hyeseong Kim fading into more of a utility role.

Brewers manager Pat Murphy said Tuesday in a radio interview that "all things look good" for Misiorowski (hamstring) to make his next scheduled start Wednesday in St. Louis, Adam McCalvy of MLB.comreports.

Misiorowski exited his last start Friday against the Nationals with a right hamstring cramp. However, he reported feeling fine after the game and was able to throw his normal between-starts bullpen session Monday. Barring a setback, Misiorowski should be in line for a normal workload against the Cardinals on Wednesday.
