Hence was demoted to the Cardinals' Florida Complex League roster Wednesday, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Hence has posted an 8.64 ERA and 7:9 K:BB over 8.1 innings while working out of the bullpen at Triple-A Memphis. In his most recent outing, the righty averaged just 89.6 mph with his four-seamer and 90.2 mph with his sinker, with both pitches reflecting considerable drops in velocity. Hence will work on things in a less pressurized environment before likely rejoining the Memphis roster at a later date.

Fernandez is not in the lineup for Thursday's game in Milwaukee.

Fernandez had started the last four contests and 17 of the past 18 tilts, but he'll begin Thursday's festivities on the bench. Adrian Del Castillo will occupy the designated-hitter slot in Thursday's rubber match.

Mets manager Carlos Mendoza said Thursday that Soto (forearm) could return to playing the outfield during this weekend's series versus the Angels, Jorge Castillo of ESPN.com reports.

Soto has been limited to designated-hitter duty while battling left forearm tightness, but he's progressed to the point that a return to playing defense is imminent. A return to left field for Soto will allow for more flexibility in the Mets' DH slot and give the club more outfield options while Luis Robert (back) is on the shelf.

Lockridge is absent from the lineup for Thursday's contest against the Diamondbacks.

Lockridge has been a regular presence in the Brewers' lineup lately, but he'll begin Thursday's festivities on the bench. Greg Jones is in left field and batting eighth in the rubber match.

Black will start at designated hitter and bat fifth in Thursday's game versus the Diamondbacks.

With Christian Yelich (groin) still out, the left-handed-hitting Black is settling in as the Brewers' primary DH against right-handers, having now made four starts in five games in such situations. He's off to a nice start, going 5-for-14 with three RBI.

Taylor is not in the lineup for Thursday's contest against the Nationals.

Taylor started two of the first three games in center field while Luis Robert (back) was banged up, but he will be on the bench in the Mets' first contest after Robert was officially placed on the injured list. Carson Benge will slide over to center field, and MJ Melendez will draw the start in left field.

Alvarez is absent from the lineup for Thursday's tilt versus the Nationals.

Alvarez was behind the dish for each of the Mets' last three games, so he'll get a breather for Thursday's matinee. Luis Torrens is doing the catching and batting eighth in the rubber match.

House is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Mets.

House smacked a grand slam in Wednesday's win over the Mets, but he'll begin Thursday's contest on the bench. Jorbit Vivas will handle third base and Jose Tena will slot in at designated hitter for the Nationals in Thursday's rubber match.

Petry is slashing .333/.457/.507 with four doubles, three home runs, three stolen bases, 13 runs and 16 RBI over 19 games for High-A Wilmington.

A second-round pick in the 2025 First-Year Player Draft out of South Carolina, Petry put together a solid pro debut last season but has taken another step forward in 2026. The 22-year-old has split his time between right field and first base this season, and the latter position might offer a clearer path to the majors in the Nationals' organization if he continues to hit the cover off the ball. Petry is still at least a couple years away from a potential MLB debut, but he could be poised to make a big leap up prospect lists.

Harris is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Tigers.

Though he was in the lineup for Wednesday's 4-3 win while lefty Tarik Skubal started for Detroit, Harris will move to the bench for Thursday's series finale while the Tigers send another southpaw (Framber Valdez) to the hill. Eli White will step in for Harris in center field and will bat ninth.
