  • Caleb Durbin 3B | MIL

Brewers' Caleb Durbin: Scheduled for surgery

Durbin will undergo arthroscopic elbow surgery Oct. 30, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Durbin's elbow began bothering him toward the end of the season, so he will now go under the knife to address the issue. The 25-year-old infielder is expected to be fully recovered by the time spring training begins in February.

  • Connor Thomas RP | MIL

    Connor Thomas: Becomes free agent

Thomas (elbow) elected to become a free agent Thursday, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Thomas was a Rule 5 pick of the Brewers last offseason and made just two appearances for them before eventually undergoing internal brace surgery on his left elbow in July. He'll likely be shelved until around midseason and will not look to link up with a new organization as he continues his rehab.

  • Blue Jays' George Springer: Could play outfield, if needed

Blue Jays manager John Schneider said Thursday that Springer is "very capable" of playing the outfield in the World Series, if needed, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Springer has been deployed as the Blue Jays' primary designated hitter this season and hasn't played an inning in the outfield in a month. However, one way to reincorporate Bo Bichette (knee) back into the lineup would be to use him at DH and have Springer play the outfield. Schneider did note that he'd prefer not to take players out of their comfort zone, and Springer clearly has settled in nicely at DH with a resurgent regular season (.959 OPS, 32 home runs) and postseason (.929 OPS, four home runs).

  • Trey Yesavage SP | TOR

Blue Jays' Trey Yesavage: Starting World Series Game 1

Blue Jays manager John Schneider said Thursday that Yesavage will start Game 1 of the World Series versus the Dodgers on Friday, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

At 22 years and 88 days old, Yesavage will be the second-youngest World Series Game 1 starter in history, per Sarah Langs of MLB.com. He will be opposed by Blake Snell. Yesavage has made three starts this postseason, collecting a 4.20 ERA and 22:7 K:BB over 15 innings. The Blue Jays have not yet named their Game 2 starter, but it will likely be Kevin Gausman.

  • Bo Bichette SS | NYM

Blue Jays' Bo Bichette: DH, 2B, SS all possible

Blue Jays manager John Schneider said Thursday that designated hitter, shortstop and second base are all on the table as spots for Bichette (knee) if he is on the World Series roster, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Schneider stopped short of confirming Bichette will be on the roster following a seven-week absence with a PCL sprain in his left knee. However, Bichette will go through another full workout Thursday, and as long as he gets through that with no issues, all signs point to him suiting up for the Fall Classic. Where and how much Bichette plays is up in the air, but Andres Gimenez is expected to stay at shortstop. Bichette hasn't been used at second base in the majors, but he "looked more than comfortable" when he played the position in the minors, per Schneider, and it seems there's a good chance he'll handle the keystone in the World Series. The Blue Jays and Dodgers must set their World Series rosters by Friday morning.

  • Bo Bichette SS | NYM

Blue Jays' Bo Bichette: Works out at second base Wednesday

Bichette (knee) took grounders at second base during a workout at Rogers Centre on Wednesday, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.

It's unclear whether the Blue Jays are considering using Bichette as their regular second baseman during the World Series or if they're merely evaluating their options. The 27-year-old hasn't played a position other than shortstop at the big-league level, and the extent of his experience at second base has been 30 games in the minors, the last of which came in 2019. Bichette does appear locked into a spot on the Blue Jays' World Series roster after missing the past seven weeks with a PCL sprain in his left knee, but how he'll be used remains a mystery. Andres Gimenez is expected to stay at shortstop, and Toronto is likely hesitant to move George Springer from designated hitter to the outfield, given how well he's hit. If the team is comfortable using Bichette at second base, it would shift Ernie Clement to third base and Addison Barger to the outfield.

  • Connor Brogdon RP | CLE

Angels' Connor Brogdon: Outrighted to Triple-A

The Angels outrighted Brogdon to Triple-A Salt Lake on Wednesday.

Brogdon has the ability to decline the outright assignment and elect free agency, but it's unclear what he plans to do. The right-handed reliever made 43 appearances for the Angels in 2025, collecting a 5.55 ERA and 49:18 K:BB.

  • Carson Fulmer RP | LAA

Angels' Carson Fulmer: Sent outright to Triple-A

The Angels outrighted Fulmer (elbow) to Triple-A Salt Lake on Wednesday.

Fulmer can decline the outright assignment and elect free agency if he wants, but it's unclear what his intentions are. The righty's 2025 season ended prematurely due to an elbow strain, but he did not require surgery and should heal after an offseason of rest.

  • Carter Kieboom 3B | CLE

    Carter Kieboom: Enters open market

Kieboom cleared waivers Wednesday and elected free agency.

Kieboom spent the vast majority of 2025 with the Angels' Triple-A affiliate, slashing .319/.368/.449 with nine homers, 57 RBI, 48 runs scored and 11 stolen bases through 93 games. He was up in the majors for the final days of the regular season, appearing in three games. The 28-year-old will now enter the offseason with the freedom to sign with whichever team he chooses, though he will almost certainly have to settle for a minor-league contract.

  • Tyler Bremner SP | LAA

Angels' Tyler Bremner: Not pitching due to sore elbow

Bremner is not pitching in fall instructs due to elbow soreness, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports.

He had a clean MRI, and the move to hold him out of instructs is being labeled precautionary, with Blum reporting that there is no concern within the organization about any actual injury. Nonetheless, with six or seven very strong pitching prospects headlining the 2025 First-Year Player Draft class, the fact Bremner hasn't logged any meaningful game action since getting drafted with the No. 1 overall pick could be a tiebreaker for dynasty managers deciding whom to select in dynasty first-year player drafts.
