McDonald (2-4) allowed four runs on six hits, three walks and a hit batsman while striking out four over 3.2 innings to take the loss versus the Cubs on Saturday.

McDonald didn't get much support from his teammates, but he struggled through this outing as well. It took him 92 pitches (53 strikes) to collect his 11 outs, matching his shortest start of the season. McDonald is now at a 4.64 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 41:15 K:BB over 42.2 innings through eight starts. It's not clear when Tyler Mahle (hamstring) will return from the injured list -- if he can't go next week, McDonald is projected for a road start versus the Marlins.

Sullivan went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a second RBI in Saturday's 7-5 loss to the Athletics.

Sullivan has hit four homers this season, all coming since May 26. Over his last nine games, he has gone 8-for-21 (.381) despite filling a backup role. While his bat has improved lately, Sullivan is no real threat to Hunter Goodman's status as the Rockies' starting catcher. On the year, Sullivan is batting .229 with a .679 OPS, 13 RBI, seven runs scored, six doubles and no stolen bases over 104 plate appearances.

Freeland (1-7) allowed six runs on 10 hits and struck out four without walking a batter over 5.2 innings to take the loss versus the Athletics on Saturday.

Freeland has now allowed at least six runs in six of his 12 starts. This was the third time he avoided walking a batter, and he gave up only one home run, but that's a small consolation given the overall results. The veteran southpaw continues to struggle in 2026 with a 7.98 ERA, 1.70 WHIP and 49:16 K:BB over 58.2 innings. Freeland is projected to make his next start at home versus the Pirates.

Williams went 3-for-3 with two doubles, a walk, one RBI and one run scored in Saturday's 7-5 win over the Rockies.

Williams remained on the roster even after Max Muncy and Jacob Wilson returned from the injured list over the last week. While Williams is likely to be ticketed for a bench role, he's doing his best to make a competition of things, going 8-for-19 (.421) over his last six contests. On the year, he's batting .278 with a .788 OPS, one home run, four doubles, five RBI, five runs scored and no stolen bases over 39 plate appearances.

Gelof went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run, a stolen base and a second run scored in Saturday's 7-5 win over the Rockies.

Gelof got the start in right field for this contest. He had been primarily playing second base or third base, but the recent returns of Max Muncy and Jacob Wilson have crowded the infield. Carlos Cortes has also slumped a bit lately, which could leave right field up for grabs. Gelof has been excellent at the plate, hitting safely in 17 straight games. He's gone 23-for-67 (.343) in that span while adding three homers, eight RBI and five doubles. Overall, he's batting .271 with a .791 OPS, nine homers, seven steals, 25 RBI, 30 runs scored, eight doubles and a triple over 54 contests this season.

Alvarado struck out two in a perfect inning to earn the save in Saturday's 7-5 win over the Rockies.

Alvarado has earned a save in each of his last two outings, putting himself firmly in the mix in the Athletics' closing committee. He's pitched 5.1 scoreless innings since returning to the big-league roster June 5. He's at a 5.40 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 20:7 K:BB through 15 innings while adding two saves and four holds. Alvarado has momentum in an unsettled bullpen, so he's worth a look for fantasy managers chasing saves.

Estes allowed four runs on five hits and a walk while striking out four over 4.1 innings in a no-decision versus the Rockies on Saturday.

Estes was making his season debut at the major-league level. He was fine initially, but he gave up a solo home run to Brett Sullivan in the third inning and started to labor in the fifth. Estes was pulled at 71 pitches (47 strikes), and the Athletics' bullpen took care of business to help the team earn a win. This was likely a spot start for him -- Aaron Civale (shoulder) is set to return next week, and it's unlikely Estes will stay in the rotation over Gage Jump or Jack Perkins, especially given his 5.95 ERA in 12 Triple-A starts this year.

Trout went 1-for-5 with a stolen base in Saturday's 8-0 win over the Rays.

Trout has logged a steal in two of his last three games. The veteran outfielder has already recorded seven thefts this year, his most in any campaign since he swiped 11 bags in 2019. For the season, he's batting .225 with an .837 OPS, 15 home runs, 32 RBI, 51 runs scored and 10 doubles over 70 contests.

Neto went 1-for-5 with a stolen base and a run scored in Saturday's 8-0 win over the Rays.

Neto has hit safely in seven of his last eight games, but he's gone just 7-for-34 (.206) in that span. The shortstop is now batting .228 with a .766 OPS, 14 home runs, 11 steals, 32 RBI, 48 runs scored, 14 doubles and a triple over 68 contests. Neto's low average is likely related to his career-worst 31.4 percent strikeout rate, but he continues to be a strong contributor in counting stats.

Guzman went 2-for-4 with three RBI, a stolen base and one run scored in Saturday's 8-0 win over the Rays.

Guzman had a two-run single in the sixth inning and added another RBI single a frame later. The 22-year-old has been given a chance to compete for playing time at third base immediately after his call-up Monday, though the hot-hitting Nick Madrigal has made it a real challenge. Guzman has gone 4-for-18 with a double, four RBI, one run scored and one steal over four games so far. Guzman likely has the better long-term upside, though third base could remain a playing-time battle well into the second half of the season as the Angels await the return of Yoan Moncada (knee).
