Gonzalez (lat) tossed a scoreless inning of relief Tuesday for Triple-A Charlotte after being reinstated from the 7-day injured list.

Gonzalez made his return to the Charlotte bullpen for the first time since late April after being shelved due to a right lat strain. The 24-year-old righty compiled a 6.75 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 8:1 K:BB in 5.1 innings over four rehab appearances between the White Sox's rookie-level Arizona Complex League affiliate and High-A Winston-Salem prior to returning from the IL.

Romero leads all of baseball with 20 holds this season.

While the left-handed reliever has been valuable for leagues that have holds as a category, he's trended in the wrong direction since the beginning of June in yielding eight runs over 10.1 innings. Romero is the only trusted lefty reliever the Cardinals have, so he should continue to stay busy, though the impending free agent will be a trade candidate this month.

Smith (shoulder) struck out two and allowed one hit and no walks over two innings Wednesday in a rehab start with High-A Winston-Salem.

An All-Star selection for the White Sox as a rookie Rule 5 Draft pick in 2025, Smith surrendered 10 earned runs over 8.2 innings over his first three starts this season before Chicago optioned him to Triple-A Charlotte on April 8. After making four starts for Charlotte, Smith was shelved May 2 due to a right rotator cuff strain, but he's closing in on a return to the Triple-A rotation nearly two months later. Smith could make another rehab start or two in the lower levels of the minors before Charlotte activates him.

Rodriguez (shoulder) struck out a batter and allowed three earned runs on two hits and one walk across 1.1 innings Wednesday in a rehab start for the Brewers' rookie-level Arizona Complex League affiiate.

Milwaukee optioned Rodriguez to Triple-A Nashville on May 31, but he didn't make an appearance in the minors before reverting to the Brewers' injured list June 8 after being diagnosed with a right shoulder impingement. While pitching in his first game in a month Wednesday, Rodriguez retired just four of the eight batters he faced. He'll likely get stretched out as a starter over the course of his rehab assignment but is expected to be optioned to Nashville once the Brewers are ready to activate him from the 15-day IL.

Shewmake (adductor) has gone 3-for-9 with two doubles, three walks, one stolen base, three runs and one RBI over three rehab games between the rookie-level Florida Complex League and Triple-A Sugar Land.

Shewmake began the minor-league assignment Saturday, appearing in two games in the FCL before moving to Triple-A on Wednesday. The 28-year-old is working his way back from a right adductor strain, which sent him to the injured list June 2. Once he's ready to rejoin Houston, Shewmake is likely to serve as a utility infielder.

Estevez (shoulder) received an injection Wednesday and will be shut down for the rest of the week before being re-evaluated, MLB.com reports.

Estevez had been making progress in recovery from a right rotator cuff strain, but he suffered a setback during Saturday's bullpen session. The Royals will allow the right-hander to rest following the injection before re-evaluating him and determining the next steps. Estevez made just one appearance this season before landing on the injured list due to a left foot contusion, eventually picking up the shoulder injury during a rehab appearance May 6.

Single-A Jupiter placed Benitez on the injured list May 9, and the left-hander is expected to miss the rest of the season due to an arm injury, J.J. Cooper of Baseball America reports.

Benitez had gotten off to a stellar start this season for Jupiter, generating a 2.79 ERA, 0.83 WHIP and 24:9 K:BB in 19.1 innings through five starts. During his final appearance May 7, Benitez was working on a no-hitter midway through the fourth inning before he was abruptly pulled from the start after getting checked out on the mound by a trainer, per FishOnFirst.com. Benitez didn't look to be in any major discomfort at the time he was removed from the game, but the Marlins determined days later that he would need to be shut down. Details regarding Benitez's injury remain scarce nearly two months later, but the fact that he's been shut down for the season could point to the 20-year-old lefty requiring elbow or shoulder surgery.

Manager Will Venable said Monday that Murakami (hamstring) traveled with the team for its road trip and is considered day-to-day, but the White Sox haven't yet established a timeline for the first baseman to begin a rehab assignment, MLB.com reports.

Per Chuck Garfien of Chicago Sports Network, Venable said last Friday that Murakami was sprinting at about "85 percent," and the 26-year-old rookie has presumably increased the intensity of his running in the week since then. Assuming Murakami does in fact require a rehab assignment prior to being activated, he likely won't be available for the White Sox until at least next week. Jacob Gonzalez has been filling in as Chicago's primary first baseman since Murakami was placed on the 10-day injured list May 30 after straining his right hamstring.

Song went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in a blowout loss to the Cubs on Wednesday.

The Padres didn't have much to celebrate on a day when they were blown out of the water by a 23-3 margin. However, Song enjoyed a personal milestone when he hit his first major-league home run with a 385-foot solo blast in the fifth inning. The 29-year-old hasn't shown much power so far with a .100 ISO through 69 plate appearances, though he's demonstrated good plate discipline with a 9:13 BB:K and has swiped six bases on eight attempts.

Chisholm went 2-for-5 with a double, a run and two stolen bases Wednesday in an 11-inning loss to Detroit.

After landing in concussion protocol Monday, Chisholm was out of the lineup Tuesday but was able to enter the game as a pinch hitter. He was ultimately cleared to return to the lineup Thursday, and he started at second base while batting fifth. Chisholm seemed to have no lingering issues, as he was the only Yankee with multiple hits in the loss. He also used his legs to generate the game-tying run in the bottom of the ninth inning when he reached on an infield single, stole second and third base, and came home to score on a wild pitch. Through 82 contests, Chisholm is up to 26 thefts, third-most in the majors and well on pace to surpass his career-best mark of 40 stolen bases, which he established in 2024.
