Heim will get a breather after going 2-for-8 over the first two games of the series against Seattle. Brian Serven will start behind home plate and bat eighth while forming a battery with southpaw Jacob Lopez.

Langeliers made his return from the IL on Saturday, going 1-for-3 with an RBI in a 19-1 loss to Seattle. Max Muncy will serve as the designated hitter Sunday while Brian Serven starts behind home plate.

The Marlins placed Caissie on the 10-day injured list Sunday due to a lumbar stress reaction.

Caissie was initially diagnosed with hamstring tightness after being removed from Saturday's game against the Dodgers. However, further tests have revealed a lower-back injury for the 24-year-old outfielder, and he won't be eligible to return until the last week of the regular season. Xavier Edwards (thumb) was reinstated from the 10-day IL in a corresponding move.

Murphy is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Phillies, Lindsay Crosby of BravesToday.com reports.

Murphy started the first two games of the series and will rest for Sunday's finale after going 2-for-7 with a walk, a double and a run scored. Drake Baldwin will step in behind the plate while Ronald Acuna rests his legs as the designated hitter.

The Marlins reinstated Edwards (thumb) from the 10-day injured list, and he will start at second base and bat fifth against the Dodgers on Sunday.

Edwards has been cleared to return from a two-week absence due to a left thumb sprain, and his reinstatement from the 10-day injured list corresponds with the Marlins placing Owen Caissie (back) on the 10-day IL. Edwards is slashing .282/.361/.376 with 20 steals, six home runs and 51 RBI across 574 plate appearanes this season.

Edman is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Marlins.

Contreras has gone deep in each of the past three games, going 5-for-11 with three walks, 12 RBI and six runs scored during the homer streak. He'll receive a break for Sunday's series finale versus the Reds, providing him two straight days of rest since the Brewers are off Monday. Gary Sanchez is working behind the plate and batting cleanup against Cincinnati righty Chase Burns.

Cavanaugh went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Saturday's 7-6 loss to the Padres.

The 24-year-old catcher hit a solo homer to right field off Bradgley Rodriguez in the eighth inning, marking Cavanaugh's first big-league homer. He's recorded at least one hit in six of nine outings in September, batting .320 with three RBI, three runs scored and a home run in 25 at-bats on the month. Cavanaugh is slashing .244/.324/.291 with 10 RBI, eight runs scored and a stolen base across 145 plate appearances this season.

Whitcomb went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Saturday's 7-6 loss to the Padres.

The 27-year-old hit a solo shot off Michael King in the second inning, giving the Giants a 3-2 lead. Whitcomb has supplied at least one hit in four of the last five games, batting .263 with a home run and two additional RBI in 19 plate appearances over that stretch. He's slashing .162/.193/.350 with 11 RBI, five runs scored and four long balls across 85 plate appearances between San Francisco and Houston this season.

Hernandez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Marlins.

It's just a rest day for Hernandez, as manager Dave Roberts wants to avoid having the outfielder start three straight games on Miami's turf field, per David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports. The 33-year-old started the previous 16 contests and posted a 1.057 OPS with six extra-base hits, two steals, 14 RBI and seven runs. Josue De Paula is picking up a start in left field Sunday while Max Muncy serves as the designated hitter.
