Alexander (wrist) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Padres.

Alexander departed Saturday's game in the second inning after being struck in the wrist by a pitch. Assuming he doesn't enter off the bench, he'll end the 2025 season with a .230/.323/.383 slash line, seven home runs, 28 RBI, 31 runs scored and four stolen bases across 266 plate appearances. Jordan Lawlar will step in at third base Sunday.

Contreras (shoulder) informed incoming Cardinals president of baseball operations Chaim Bloom during a conversation Friday that he wishes to remain with the team rather than waive his no-trade clause in order to facilitate a deal, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Contreras did hedge a bit, saying he expects the Cardinals to explore the trade market for him this offseason and he would listen if they came to him with a potential deal. However, his preference is to stay put, saying he "would like to be a part of the young team that is going to need to have some of experience around them." Contreras has two years and $36.5 million remaining on his contract, along with a $17.5 million club option (or $5 million buyout) for 2028. The 33-year-old is already done for the 2025 season, having been placed on the 10-day injured list earlier this month with a right shoulder strain.

Kelly allowed no hits and a walk with no strikeouts over a scoreless inning in Saturday's 4-2 loss against the Royals.

Kelly worked a scoreless seventh inning while issuing just a walk to Mike Yastrzemski. The right-hander has been excellent in September, posting a 1.93 ERA and 0.96 WHIP over 11 outings, including seven straight appearances without an earned run -- his longest streak since opening the year with 10 consecutive scoreless frames. Overall, the 33-year-old owns a 2.75 ERA and 1.25 WHIP across 41 appearances and 39.1 innings this season.

Flores went 1-for-3 with a run scored in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Rockies.

The 34-year-old lined a single to right field in the second inning before coming around to score on a three-run homer by Casey Schmitt. Since Bryce Eldridge was called up in mid-September, Flores has appeared in six of the Giants' last 12 games, batting .286 with three RBI, three runs scored and a home run in just 14 plate appearances during that span. Overall, he's slashing .242/.307/.380 with 71 RBI, 44 runs scored, 16 long balls and a stolen base across 462 plate appearances in 124 outings this season.

Alvarado allowed no hits and a walk with no strikeouts over 1.1 scoreless innings Saturday against Kansas City.

Alvarado entered in the fifth inning and recorded the final out of the frame, then worked through the sixth while allowing just one baserunner. The hard-throwing righty has been sharp down the stretch, tossing 6.1 scoreless innings over his past five appearances and posting a 1.86 ERA across nine outings in September. In his rookie season, he owns a 3.27 ERA and 1.33 WHIP across 36 appearances and 41.1 innings.

Arenado went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's loss to the Cubs.

Arenado singled in his first plate appearance and then skied one to left-center field off Jameson Taillon in the fourth inning that found the first row of the bleachers at Wrigley Field. It was the veteran third baseman's second home run in 11 games since coming off the injured list, and he's driven in nine runs over that stretch.

Beck picked up a hold in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Rockies, tossing a scoreless inning.

Beck retired all three batters he faced on just seven pitches, five of which were strikes. The right-hander has logged three consecutive scoreless outings, allowing two hits and one walk while striking out three in 4.2 innings during that span. Overall, he owns a 4.69 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 40:15 K:BB across 55.2 innings in 30 appearances this season.

Burke did not factor into the decision Saturday against the Nationals, allowing two runs on three hits and a walk across 4.1 relief innings. He struck out 10.

Working in a bulk role, Burke logged a season-high 10 punchouts while allowing just a pair of runs on a Daylen Lile homer. The 25-year-old Burke was solid down the stretch, posting a 3.65 ERA over his last three appearances (12.1 innings). He'll finish the year at 4-11 with a 4.29 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 133 strikeouts across 134.1 innings.

Jones went 2-for-4 with two RBI in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Red Sox.

Jones delivered a two-run single in the fifth inning that ultimately won the game for the Tigers and secured their spot in the postseason. The outfielder is now riding a three-game hitting streak, during which time he's gone 4-for-9 with a home run and five RBI. Jones gives Detroit a potent bat against southpaws in the playoffs, as he's sporting a robust .970 OPS in those matchups this year.

Crow-Armstrong went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Saturday's 7-3 win over the Cardinals.

Crow-Armstrong has now gone deep in consecutive games, pushing his season total up to 31. That's easily a new career best and is tied with Seiya Suzuki for second on the team behind Michael Busch, who has 34 long balls. Crow-Armstrong has also swiped 35 bases this year, giving him his first career 30-30 campaign and offering a glimpse at the 23-year-old's long-term potential.
