Holliday will start at second base and bat seventh in Tuesday's game versus the Rays.

Holliday will be making his season debut for the Orioles after undergoing surgery in February to repair a fractured right hamate bone and then encountering multiple setbacks along the way. Per Andy Kostka of TheBanner.com, Holliday said he still feels a bit of soreness in his hand, but he's been told that it's not a concern and will eventually go away. Holliday was the Orioles' leadoff hitter for the bulk of last season, but he will slide into the No. 7 spot as the club eases him back into the mix. The 22-year-old slashed just .176/.291/.284 on his rehab assignment, though he reached base seven times and had one home run in his final four rehab games.

The Cubs designated Blach for assignment Tuesday.

Blach spun three scoreless innings out of the Cubs' bullpen Monday against the Brewers in his lone appearance for the club, and his reward is being jettisoned from the 26-man and 40-man rosters. The lefty will likely clear waivers, and if that happens, he would have the ability to decline an outright assignment and become a free agent.

The Cubs activated Thielbar (hamstring) from the 15-day injured list Tuesday.

Thielbar wound up being sidelined for nearly a month with a left hamstring strain, but he's been cleared to return after making one scoreless rehab appearance. The left-hander had been serving as the Cubs' closer before he got hurt, but with Daniel Palencia now healthy, Thielbar will slide into a setup role.

The Pirates recalled Garcia from Triple-A Indianapolis on Tuesday.

The move was reported Monday and has now been made official. Garcia is starting in right field and batting sixth Tuesday in St. Louis in what will be his team debut. He was acquired from the Red Sox over the offseason in the Johan Oviedo trade and has slashed .205/.256/.356 with three home runs in 19 games this season with Indianapolis.

Alexander will start Tuesday's game against the Twins, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

The right-hander was called up from Triple-A Sugar Land on Monday and was expected to provide some length out of the bullpen, but he'll instead make a start Tuesday after Lance McCullers (undisclosed) was scratched. Alexander was a decent swingman for Houston last year (3.66 ERA in 14 appearances) but has surrendered 10 earned runs across his two big-league outings this season.

Narvaez (finger) will start at catcher and bat seventh in Tuesday's game against the Royals.

Narvaez was pulled from Sunday's game versus Atlanta with right middle finger soreness and did not play Monday. However, he is feeling well enough to give it a go Tuesday as the Red Sox look to clinch the series win.

Rafaela (hamstring) will start in center field and bat second in Tuesday's game versus the Royals.

Rafaela didn't start Monday's series opener because of some mild hamstring tightness, but he entered that game as a defensive replacement and will return to the lineup Tuesday. The Gold Glove center fielder has a .918 OPS in May.

McCullers has been scratched from his scheduled start Tuesday in Minnesota.

The Astros have yet to provide reasoning for the move, but an update on McCullers should be forthcoming. Jason Alexander will make a spot start Tuesday in McCullers' place.

Winn (knee) is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Pirates, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Winn had to depart Sunday's game versus the Royals because of left knee discomfort, and he's not feeling well enough to start Tuesday even after Monday's team off day. He had surgery last September to repair the meniscus in his right knee. Cesar Prieto will cover shortstop and bat seventh in the series opener.

Manager Aaron Boone announced Tuesday that Cole (elbow) will be reinstated from the 15-day injured list to make his season debut Friday versus the Rays, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.

The Yankees ace is ready to make his first start in the big leagues since 2024 after being sidelined for the entirety of last season due to Tommy John surgery. Cole made six rehab appearances in the minor leagues, with his last outing coming with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Saturday, when he threw 86 pitches across 5.1 frames while giving up one run on six hits with six strikeouts and a walk. The right-hander shouldn't face significant workload restrictions given the length of his rehab assignment, though the Yankees are still likely to exercise some caution with his usage.
