Sheets went 2-for-3 with a walk, a stolen base and a run scored in Friday's 2-0 win over the Mariners.

Sheets helped manufacture the Padres' first run with a walk and a steal in the fourth inning before scoring on a Miguel Andujar double. This was Sheets' second multi-hit effort over his last four games, and he's added three walks in that span. He's now batting .240 with a .766 OPS, a career-high three steals, six home runs, 16 RBI, 16 runs scored and nine doubles over 132 plate appearances this season in a strong-side platoon role.

Miller allowed two hits and a walk while striking out four over 1.1 scoreless innings to earn the save in Friday's 2-0 win over the Mariners.

Miller had a close call after being called upon to relieve Jason Adam in the eighth inning, allowing a single to load the bases before striking out Connor Joe. In the ninth, Miller put two more runners on base but struck out the last two batters he faced to finish the save. He threw 34 pitches (19 strikes) in his second appearance in three days, so his workload could be managed over the weekend. The flamethrower has converted all 14 of his save chances this season while pitching to a 0.86 ERA, 0.76 WHIP and 44:6 K:BB across 21 innings.

Vasquez (5-1) allowed four hits and struck out three without walking a batter over six scoreless innings to earn the win Friday over the Mariners.

Vasquez has been more good than bad this year, posting three scoreless outings and four quality starts among his first nine starts of the campaign. This was also the fourth time this year he's avoided issuing a walk. He avenged a poor showing at home against the Mariners back on April 15, when he allowed four runs over a season-worst four innings. The right-hander is now at a 2.68 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 45:13 K:BB through 50.1 innings this season. His 2.3 BB/9 has been his biggest area of improvement in 2026, which has helped Vasquez be one of the Padres' most reliable starters. His next start is projected to be a tough one at home versus the Dodgers.

Bader went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 5-2 loss to the Athletics.

Bader was back in the lineup after sitting out the previous two games. The Giants may simply be managing his reps coming off a hamstring injury, but Bader could also lose some at-bats against right-handed pitchers if the left-handed-hitting Drew Gilbert can show consistency at the plate. Through 66 plate appearances this season, Bader is batting .159 with a .515 OPS, three homers, five RBI, six runs scored and no stolen bases.

Arraez went 4-for-5 with a solo home run and a double in Friday's 5-2 loss to the Athletics.

Arraez has three multi-hit efforts over his last five games. He also picked up a pair of extra-base hits Friday, doing so for the first time since he had a pair of doubles May 4 versus the Padres. The infielder's homer was his first of the year to go with 15 RBI, 17 runs scored, eight doubles, two triples and four stolen bases over 42 contests. He's batting .317 with a .759 OPS and continues to avoid whiffing, having struck out just 3.8 percent of the time this year.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Friday that there is a "slim possibility" Ryan will enter the team's big-league rotation in place of Blake Snell (elbow), Jack Harris of the California Post reports.

Snell landed on the 15-day injured list Friday and could be looking at an extended absence if he needs surgery. With Tyler Glasnow (back) also on the IL, Los Angeles could need to find a fill-in starter, though Harris notes the team is set with five healthy starters ahead of next Thursday's off day. Ryan doesn't seem likely to join the MLB rotation given Roberts' comments, but the skipper didn't entirely rule out the possibility. Ryan is coming back from an injury of his own -- a hamstring issue that cost him nearly a month -- but he returned to action Friday for Triple-A Oklahoma City and tossed four innings, allowing one run on two hits and one walk while striking out four batters. He tossed 53 pitches in the outing, so the right-hander presumably isn't fully ramped up following his absence. Ultimately, the Dodgers may not need to dig into their minor-league depth for a sixth starter if Glasnow returns in time for the team's next stretch of six consecutive games, which will not begin until May 29 versus Philadelphia.

Mahle (1-5) allowed five runs on 10 hits and a walk while striking out six over five innings to take the loss Friday versus the Athletics.

Mahle did a fair job until the fifth inning, when he allowed a three-run home run to Nick Kurtz and an RBI single to Henry Bolte. This marks the fifth time Mahle has allowed at least four runs this season, though this is the first time all year he's had two poor outings in a row. The 31-year-old is now at a 5.59 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and 48:21 K:BB through 46.2 innings over nine starts. He's projected for a road start versus the Diamondbacks in his next outing.

Kurtz went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run and a hit-by-pitch in Friday's 5-2 win over the Giants.

Kurtz went deep in the fifth inning to give the Athletics the lead for good. The first baseman's power has turned back on -- this was his third straight game with a homer after going 15 contests without one. He's up to eight long balls, 29 RBI, 28 runs scored, five stolen bases, eight doubles and a triple while batting .276 with a .923 OPS over 43 games this season. He'll continue to be a swing-and-miss risk with a 29.8 percent strikeout rate, but the power potential makes up for it.

Harris allowed a hit and struck out one without walking a batter in a scoreless inning to earn the save in Friday's 5-2 win over the Giants.

Harris picked up his second save in May and his third of the year. He's allowed just one run on eight hits and two walks while striking out seven over five innings this month. The Athletics' bullpen roles have been fluid for much of the season -- Harris is now one of four relievers with at least three saves, and he's added seven holds. Jack Perkins and Mark Leiter have struggled at times this month, while Joel Kuhnel has seen less high-leverage usage recently. Harris is at a 2.45 ERA on the year, though his 1.64 WHIP and 24:17 K:BB over 22 innings would suggest there will be volatility for him at some point. He walked 33 batters in both of the previous two seasons as well. The southpaw figures to be a matchups-based option for saves as the Athletics' top left-handed reliever.

Civale (5-1) allowed two runs on six hits and a walk while striking out two over five innings to earn the win Friday over the Giants.

Both runs allowed came on solo home runs, making this the first time in nine starts Civale has allowed multiple homers. On the positive side, he's now allowed two runs or fewer in seven outings, and he's walked one batter or zero in six starts. He might have had more in the tank Friday, as he exited at 76 pitches (52 strikes). Civale is sporting a 2.70 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 35:14 K:BB through 46.2 innings this season. Allowing a high volume of hits (51) could come back to bite him down the line, but he's been effective at limiting damage so far. The right-hander's next start is projected to be on the road versus the Angels.
