Semien went 2-for-3 with a walk, a solo home run and a second run scored in Thursday's win over the Tigers.

The veteran second baseman took Ricky Vanasco deep in the eighth inning, the fifth of five Mets long balls on the afternoon. Semien has had a sluggish start to his tenure with his new team, but he may be getting comfortable -- over the last eight games, he's batting .310 (9-for-29) with a double and two of his three homers on the year, as well as a 4:5 BB:K.

Baty went 1-for-3 with a walk and a two-run home run in Thursday's win over the Tigers.

The utility player took Keider Montero deep in the fourth inning, tying the game at 3-3 before the Mets turned on the jets in an eventual 9-4 victory. It was Baty's first long ball since April 23, snapping a 17-game drought, and just his second of the season. Through 138 plate appearances, he's slashing .220/.290/.333 with two steals, 15 RBI and 17 runs.

Perkins (2-2) blew the save and took the loss Thursday as the A's fell 5-4 to the Cardinals. He allowed two runs on three hits, no walks and a hit-by-pitch with no strikeouts over two-thirds of an inning.

The right-hander entered with a one-run cushion in the ninth inning but plunked JJ Wetherholt with two outs, opening the door for an Ivan Herrera game-tying single and a go-ahead double from Jordan Walker. Perkins had emerged as a trusted high-leverage arm for manager Mark Kotsay after a strong start to the season, but he has faltered of late. The 26-year-old has surrendered five earned runs across his past four outings, including a pair of blown saves. Overall, Perkins owns a 4.76 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 22:5 K:BB with three saves in five chances across 17 innings in 2026.

Soto went 2-for-5 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBI in Thursday's win over the Tigers.

The 27-year-old superstar didn't seem affected by the ball he fouled off his foot Wednesday, launching a solo shot off Brenan Hanifee in the seventh inning as the Mets' offense erupted for five homers in the series finale. It was Soto's fifth long ball of the season and his second in 12 May contests, a month in which he's slashing just .174/.250/.348 with one steal, five RBI and six runs.

Bachar struck out two over two perfect innings of relief in Thursday's loss to the Twins.

The right-hander entered the game for the sixth inning with the Marlins down 6-0, breezing through two frames on 23 pitches (16 strikes). Bachar has an impressive 2.05 ERA, 0.77 WHIP and 25:7 K:BB through 22 innings over 13 appearances, but he has zero wins or saves and just one hold to show for it as he remains in a low-leverage role.

Skubal (elbow) has resumed playing catch, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports.

Skubal is barely more than a week removed from surgery to remove a loose body from his left elbow, so it's remarkable that he's already throwing. The procedure was performed with a nanoneedle, which significantly reduced post-surgical swelling in the joint and could shorten the timeline for Skubal's return from two-plus months to just six weeks if all goes well. A return date for the two-time AL Cy Young winner should come into focus in the coming weeks as he ramps up his throwing progression.

Hanifee will serve as the Tigers' opening pitcher in Friday's game against the Blue Jays, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

The 27-year-old reliever has yielded just one run with a 4:1 K:BB over 8.1 frames for the Tigers this season, but that run came in Hanifee's last appearance Thursday, when he served up a solo shot to the Mets' Juan Soto. Ty Madden is expected to serve as the bulk reliever for Detroit on Friday.

Madden will serve as the Tigers' primary pitcher out of the bullpen Friday versus the Blue Jays, with Brenan Hanifee being deployed as an opener in front of him, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Madden was initially listed as a traditional starting pitcher, but the Tigers have decided to use him in a bulk-relief role again after it worked well the last two times. The righty has permitted three runs with a 12:2 K:BB over 11 innings in his first two appearances for Detroit this season.

Polanco (Achilles/wrist) was given a platelet-rich plasma injection in mid-April to combat his left Achilles bursitis, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.

Polanco has dealt with a nagging Achilles issue all season, and while the PRP injection provided temporary relief, the injury has lingered. The veteran infielder officially landed on the 10-day injured list with a wrist contusion, but it's the Achilles problem that has caused his return timeline to remain fuzzy. Polanco has been performing some baseball activities like taking batting practice, but he won't be cleared for full workouts until he's asymptomatic.

Pushard (knee) could be activated from the 15-day injured list during the Cardinals' homestand beginning May 15, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Pushard has turned in seven innings of one-run ball with an 8:3 K:BB over his last six rehab appearances, and his 30-day rehab clock expires this week. The Cardinals intend to keep the Rule 5 pick around, so his activation appears imminent. Pushard has been dealing with right knee tendinitis.
