Fien (wrist) was activated from the 7-day injured list by Single-A Fredericksburg on Wednesday, Spencer Nusbaum of The Athletic reports.

Fien has finally been cleared to return to action after being shelved since early April with a left wrist injury. Acquired from the Rangers over the offseason in the MacKenzie Gore trade, Fien was 2-for-17 at the dish in his first four contests for Fredericksburg before getting hurt.

Jackson is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Yankees, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Jackson will head to the bench for the series finale while the Orioles go with Blaze Alexander at second base, Weston Wilson at third base and Coby Mayo at designated hitter. The Orioles are holding Jackson out of the starting nine for the third time in four games while he's struggled to a .133/.161/.133 slash line to begin May.

Basallo is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Yankees, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Per Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun, manager Craig Albernaz said Monday that Basallo had "earned the right" to face left-handed pitchers, but the Orioles will nonetheless keep the 21-year-old on the bench Wednesday for a matchup with southpaw Max Fried. The decision to hold Basallo out may have less to do with the matchup than the fact that the youngster recently overcame a minor left knee issue. After being scratched from the lineup Monday, Basallo returned to the starting nine for Tuesday's 6-2 loss as the Orioles' designated hitter and went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run.

The Angels activated Johnson (hamstring) from the 15-day injured list Wednesday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Johnson landed on the IL back in early April due to a viral infection but was more recently bothered by a hamstring issue. The righty made two rehab starts in the minors, allowing three runs with a 12:1 K:BB over 8.1 innings. Manager Kurt Suzuki said that Johnson will be available out of the bullpen for now. However, he's a candidate to start Sunday's game against the Dodgers, depending on what his usage is between now and then.

Meyer (shoulder) is expected to resume throwing off a mound next week, FishOnFirst.com reports.

Meyer is closing in on completing his first bullpen session since being shut down due to a right shoulder strain coming out of spring training. According to the report, the Marlins are eyeing early-to-mid June for Meyer's 2026 debut if all goes well in his throwing program. The Marlins could initially have Meyer pitch in rehab games in the rookie-level Florida Complex League and/or the Florida State League, but he's eventually expected to be part of the rotation at High-A Beloit.

Ward believes his power output has been affected by playing through a bone bruise in his hand that he suffered April 13 versus the Diamondbacks, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Through that April 13 contest, Ward was slashing .333/.427/.492 with a 10:17 BB:K and 16.8 percent chase rate. Since then, he's adopted a more patient approach, hitting .212/.422/.294 with a 31:17 BB:K and 11.2 percent chase rate. Ward considers himself healed now, having traded in a thick padded hand guard for a thinner one Tuesday. Now that he's back to 100 percent, Ward could be due for a surge of power moving forward. The 32-year-old has just one home run in 42 games this season after slugging a career-high 36 long balls in 2025.

Schanuel is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Guardians, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Though he's typically included in the lineup against southpaws like the Guardians' Parker Messick, the left-handed-hitting Schanuel will be given a breather while the Angels wrap up their series in Cleveland with a day game after a night game. Vaughn Grissom will step in at first base in place of Schanuel, who slashed .318/.333/.409 with four runs and one RBI while starting each of the Angels' first 11 games of May.

Wells is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game in Baltimore.

Wells started at catcher in the first two contests of the series, so he'll get some rest in Wednesday's matinee. J.C. Escarra will do the catching for Max Fried in the rubber match.

Patrick collected his first hold while striking out a batter over a scoreless inning of relief Tuesday in the Brewers' 6-4 win over the Padres.

The Brewers haven't indicated that Patrick has lost his spot in the rotation, but the right-hander has now worked out of the bullpen for his last two appearances. Patrick had previously pitched in relief Saturday, when starter Kyle Harrison was lifted after four innings before the former followed him with five strikeouts over three scoreless frames in an eventual extra-inning win over the Yankees. Milwaukee may have just taken advantage of Monday's off day to temporarily shorten its rotation to four men, so Patrick would still appear likely to make a start over the weekend in Minnesota. However, Patrick's recent usage suggests that he could be the odd man out of the rotation on a more permanent basis once Brandon Woodruff (shoulder) returns from the injured list.

Stewart went 3-for-5 with a double and two runs scored in Tuesday's 10-4 loss to the Nationals.

The rookie first baseman extended a modest hitting streak to five games with the performance, although Tuesday's effort was his first multi-hit performance since April 25. Stewart's blistering start to the season has faded as big-league pitchers have gotten a book on him, but the 22-year-old may be making the necessary adjustments. Through 42 contests, he's still slashing .256/.335/.494 with 10 homers, eight steals, 25 runs and 30 RBI.
