The Diamondbacks activated Locklear (shoulder/elbow) from the 10-day injured list Friday and optioned him to Triple-A Reno.

Locklear has completed the rehab from his elbow and shoulder operations and homered in his first rehab game at Reno. However, with the emergence of Ildemaro Vargas at first base and Carlos Santana (thigh) also due back soon, Locklear will remain at Reno for now.

The Diamondbacks designated Thomas for assignment Friday.

Thomas is a gifted defensive center fielder, but the bat hasn't come around, as he sports a career .230/.273/.361 slash line over nearly 1,500 plate appearances at the major-league level. He just turned 26 and is under team control through 2028, so Thomas should draw interest via waivers from teams in need of center field help.

The Royals placed Ragans on the 15-day injured list Friday, retroactive to May 7, due to a left elbow impingement.

The left-hander departed his start against the Guardians on Wednesday due to a valgus extension overload in his left elbow -- also known as pitcher's elbow -- and he was initially expected to rest for a few days before the next steps of his recovery program were determined. Ragans said Thursday that he was already feeling much better than when he left Wednesday's contest, but he'll still spend at least the next couple of weeks on the IL after being diagnosed with the impingement. Stephen Kolek was called up from Triple-A Omaha in a corresponding move Friday and is a candidate to fill Ragans' spot in the starting rotation.

The Mariners optioned Pereda to Triple-A Tacoma on Friday.

Pereda was up as a third catcher while Cal Raleigh was banged up, picking up two hits in five plate appearances. With Raleigh available to catch again, Pereda is heading back to the minors.

The Mariners activated Donovan (groin) from the 10-day injured list Friday.

Donovan has been sidelined for nearly three weeks with a left groin strain, but he's been cleared to return to action after playing one rehab game. The 29-year-old was slashing .304/.437/.518 with three home runs and a 9:12 BB:K before getting hurt. Donovan will re-take third base for the Mariners, shifting Leo Rivas to a utility infielder role.

DeLauter is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Twins.

The rookie outfielder has started regularly against left-handed pitching this season, but he'll receive the day off Friday with lefty Connor Prielipp taking the mound for Minnesota. Barring an appearance off the bench, DeLauter will put his 11-game hit streak on hold.

The Rays optioned Solesky to Triple-A Durham on Friday, Ryan Bass of Rays.tv reports.

Solesky was called up for his first taste of the majors this week and will return to Durham without making his big-league debut. The 28-year-old remains on the 40-man roster, but that may not last long given his 6.57 ERA and 1.74 WHIP across 24.2 innings at Triple-A this year.

The Red Sox recalled Anderson from Triple-A Worcester on Friday.

Anderson permitted three runs with a 6:2 K:BB over eight innings in an earlier stint with Boston. The 26-year-old is capable of logging multiple innings during his appearances, so he'll offer the bullpen some length.

Bohm is absent from the lineup for Friday's game against the Rockies.

It's the second straight day on the bench for Bohm, who ranks 176th out of 177 qualifiers with a lowly .433 OPS. Edmundo Sosa will again handle third-base duties for the Phillies while Bohm regroups.

The Guardians designated Brogdon for assignment Friday, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.

Brogdon had a 1.11 WHIP and 14:3 K:BB for the Guardians, but his ERA was a bloated 5.28 due to his usual home run issues as he's served up five in only 15.1 innings. He'll likely clear waivers, and if that happens the reliever would have the ability to become a free agent.
