Smth (3-1) didn't allow a baserunner across three innings while striking out four to earn the win Sunday against the Twins.

The White Sox threw a bullpen game, but Smith recorded the most outs of any of the five pitchers used. Fourteen of his 35 pitches went for either called or swinging strikes, and he continues to excel out of the bullpen in his first taste of the majors. Overall, Smith has allowed only one earned run across 16 innings and has maintained a 23:10 K:BB. He has also shown improved control lately, walking only four across his last 11.1 frames.

Perdomo (head) will start at shortstop and bat leadoff in Monday's game versus the Royals.

Perdomo was struck in the helmet by a line drive off the bat of Ketel Marte when he was running the bases in Sunday's game against the Astros, forcing his exit. However, he did not experience concussion symptoms and will not have to miss a start.

Arenado went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 3-2 win over Houston.

Arenado's two-run long ball broke a 1-1 tie in the third inning. The homer ended a 12-game drought without a homer or RBI for Arenado, who entered Sunday's contest batting .133 (6-for-45) during that dry spell. It was his 22nd home run of the season, the most Arenado has socked since 2023.

Finnegan (3-1) allowed an unearned run on two hits without recording an out to take the loss in Sunday's 3-2 defeat to the Guardians in 10 innings.

Finnegan was tasked with navigating the bottom of the 10th inning in a 2-2 game, but he allowed two quick singles on five pitches to allow the automatic runner to score from second and take his first loss of the season. While he wasn't charged with any earned runs Sunday, the righty still continued his recent struggles, as he's sitting with an 8.76 ERA across his last 15 appearances to go along with two blown saves and a loss on his ledger. Overall, Finnegan has been better with a 3.86 ERA in 58.1 innings this season, though his 1.61 WHIP would easily be a new career worst.

Vargas started at first base in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Astros and went 1-for-4 at the plate.

After starting in all but one of the Diamondbacks' 19 games from Aug. 14 through Wednesday, Vargas wasn't included in the lineup for either of the club's first two games in Houston before he entered the starting nine Sunday. He ended up shifting from first base to shortstop when Geraldo Perdomo was removed from the contest after being struck by a line drive off his helmet in the third inning. Vargas' playing time has dried up now that Ketel Marte -- who had been serving as the designated hitter upon his activation off the injured list -- has reclaimed his primary job as the starting second baseman. However, if Perdomo misses further time, Vargas could see his opportunities pick back up.

Crow-Armstrong went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and two total RBI in Sunday's 10-3 loss to the Marlins.

Crow-Armstrong's fifth-inning home run was one of the few bright spots for Chicago in an ugly loss, as it got the star outfielder to 40 home runs for the first time in his MLB career, and he also set a new career high with 96 RBI. Additionally, the 24-year-old is sitting at 33 stolen bases, and if he gets particularly active on the basepaths over the next few weeks, he could record the first 40-40 campaign in Cubs' team history and just the seventh in MLB history. Crow-Armstrong ultimately has his sights set on a possible NL MVP award in what's been a masterful fantasy performance to date.

Flaherty (forearm) began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Toledo on Sunday, striking out two while yielding one hit and one walk over 1.1 scoreless innings.

Making his first appearance in seven weeks, Flaherty threw only 19 pitches in the outing, so he's not close to being fully stretched out. The veteran right-hander has been sidelined since late July due to right forearm flexor inflammation.

Alvarez allowed three runs on four hits with five strikeouts and two walks over 4.1 innings Sunday against the Dodgers. He did not factor into the decision.

The Nationals held a 4-1 lead heading into the fifth inning, but the southpaw was pulled with one out after giving up a run on a single and a double. Reliever Brad Lord then allowed the inherited runner plus a runner of his own to score, tying the game. Alvarez issued at least two walks for a fourth straight outing and threw just 48 of 78 pitches for strikes Sunday while generating only five whiffs. He remains winless in his past 11 appearances and has a 4.03 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 43:27 K:BB across 53.2 innings during that span. A home matchup versus the Angels likely awaits him next weekend.

Henriquez allowed no hits with two strikeouts and one walk in a scoreless ninth inning to earn the save Sunday versus the Nationals.

Closer Tanner Scott had pitched three of the last four days, so it was Henriquez that got the call after Mookie Betts put the Dodgers up 7-5 with a three-run homer in the bottom of the eighth inning. It's the second save of the season for the right-hander, who has been a reliable bullpen option lately with just one run given up and a 23:2 K:BB in his past 15 appearances. Henriquez's previous save came June 28, and he's unlikely to be a regular part of the ninth-inning mix for manager Dave Roberts.

Wrobleski didn't factor in the decision Sunday against the Nationals after giving up four runs on eight hits and one walk over three-plus innings. He struck out six.

The left-hander was shifted to the bullpen upon his return from forearm inflammation Tuesday, but he made just one relief appearance before retaking the mound as a starter, with Roki Sasaki (finger) unavailable. Wrobleski opened with three scoreless innings Sunday, but things fell apart in the fourth as he failed to retire any of the five batters he faced. The 26-year-old has surrendered six earned runs across five frames in his two outings since coming off the IL, and he's likely to shift back to the bullpen due to Emmet Sheehan rejoining the big-league roster Monday.
