Harris earned a save against the Mariners on Thursday, striking out two batters over one clean inning.

Harris inherited a three-run lead when he entered in the ninth inning and blew through three Seattle batters, throwing 10 of 14 pitches for strikes and notching a pair of punchouts. The southpaw collected his first save since Aug. 23, as Elvis Alvarado had stepped in for the team's two most recent saves prior to Thursday. Based on recent usage, it appears Harris and Alvarado are operating in a loose closer committee.

Perkins allowed three runs on four hits and five walks while striking out seven batters over three innings in a no-decision against Seattle on Thursday.

The A's gave Perkins a quick lead in the top of the first inning, but he was pounded by the Mariners for three runs on four hits and two walks in the bottom of the frame. The right-hander made it through his final two innings without getting scored on again, but his control didn't get any better, as he walked three more batters and hit another before his day was done. Overall, Perkins needed a whopping 86 pitches to get through three innings, and only 49 of those offerings were strikes -- though he did record seven of his nine outs via strikeout. He's walked at least four batters in three straight outings but has managed to hold down a 3.46 ERA across 13 innings during that span due in part to racking up an impressive 18 punchouts.

Seager went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run Thursday in a 6-0 win against the Rays.

Seager hit the only long ball of the game, clubbing a two-run shot to right-center field in the fifth inning. The veteran shortstop entered the contest amid a 12-game homer drought, though he had reached base at a healthy .370 clip during that span. Seager has hit 14 home runs through 81 contests this season, and he'll need to have a good month in the power department to reach the 20-homer mark for a fifth straight season.

McClanahan (10-7) took the loss against Texas on Thursday, allowing four runs on six hits and one walk while striking out three batters over five innings.

McClanahan was strong to begin the game, starting with three scoreless frames. However, the southpaw gave up four runs across his final two innings, with the big blow being a Corey Seager two-run homer. McClanahan continues to fall short of six frames -- he's yet to reach that mark over seven starts since the All-Star break. He's fallen off a bit in the second half with a 4.78 ERA across 32 innings, though he's posted a 24:11 K:BB and 1.09 WHIP during that span.

Quantrill (7-5) earned the win over Tampa Bay on Thursday, allowing two hits and walking two batters while striking out five over seven scoreless innings.

Quantrill didn't need to miss many bats (nine whiffs) to completely quiet the Rays. The only two hits he allowed were singles, and Tampa Bay didn't get any runners to third base against him. Quantrill has not only logged four consecutive quality starts, he's also held the opponent scoreless in three of those outings. He's made more appearances out of the bullpen (17) than as a starter (12) this season, but the right-hander may have forced his way into a permanent rotation spot given his recent dominance.

The Reds signed Fletcher to a minor-league contract Thursday.

Fletcher has been assigned to Triple-A Louisville. The 29-year-old has spent most of the 2026 campaign in the Pirates' organization, where he slashed .301/.386/.485 with eight home runs, 32 RBI, 42 runs scored, three stolen bases and a 26:34 BB:K across 237 plate appearances with Triple-A Indianapolis before being released last month.

Rocker will pitch in bulk relief behind opener Trevor Williams during Friday's game against the Rays, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports.

Rocker has appeared in 26 games this season, 24 of which have been as a traditional starter. He's followed an opener twice and has experienced success in that capacity, going a season-high 7.2 innings against the Rockies at Coors Field back in May before covering five innings at Miami in June. In total, the right-hander has allowed just two runs on eight hits and three walks with 15 strikeouts across those 12.2 frames.

Williams will serve as the Rangers' opening pitcher ahead of Kumar Rocker during Friday's game against the Rays.

Williams inked a major-league deal with Texas on Tuesday after he was cut by the Nationals last weekend. The right-hander worked in bulk relief with Washington and threw a season-high 63 pitches on two occasions across eight total appearances. Rocker has worked behind an opener twice this season, allowing just two runs on eight hits and three walks with 16 strikeouts across 12.2 innings.

Alcantara (13-9) took the loss against the Royals on Thursday, allowing four runs on six hits and one walk in six innings. He struck out two.

Kansas City made its mark in the third and fifth innings, bringing across a pair of runs in each frame to cost Alcantara a quality start. The workhorse right-hander continues to deliver plenty of length for the Marlins, pitching at least six innings in 12 consecutive starts. He'll take a steady 3.54 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 142:51 K:BB over an MLB-high 195.2 frames into his next scheduled outing versus the division-rival Mets.

Wacha (9-8) notched the win against the Marlins on Thursday, allowing three runs on six hits and two walks in six innings. He struck out seven.

The veteran right-hander continued his reliable ways Thursday, logging his third straight quality start and seventh in his last nine. Wacha has been a stabilizing presence in Kansas City's banged-up rotation, surrendering more than four earned runs on just three occasions in 28 starts. He'll carry a solid 3.36 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 143:44 K:BB over 176.2 innings into his next scheduled outing versus Arizona.
