Rea didn't factor into the decision in Saturday's 8-6 loss to the Blue Jays, allowing three hits over 5.1 scoreless innings. He struck out three without walking a batter.

The right-hander retired the first 12 batters he faced before Brandon Valenzuela led off the top of the fifth inning with a single, and Rea got lifted after 78 pitches (50 strikes) when he gave up two more knocks in the sixth. He was still comfortably in line for his sixth win of the season until the Cubs' bullpen melted down in the seventh and eighth frames. It was an encouraging bounce-back performance from Rea after he got tagged for 11 runs in 9.1 innings over his prior two outings. He'll take a 4.99 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 59:28 K:BB in 79.1 innings into his next start, which is set to come on the road next week against the Mets.

Vientos went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Saturday's 15-3 loss to the Phillies.

In a forgettable night for the Mets, Vientos took Cristopher Sanchez deep in the fourth inning before adding a single and scoring again in the seventh. The 26-year-old has hit safely in five of his past six games, homering twice with six RBI and four runs scored during that stretch. On the year, he's slashing .223/.256/.393 with nine home runs, 32 RBI and 23 runs scored across 223 plate appearances.

Arrighetti (7-3) took the loss against Cleveland on Saturday, allowing six runs on six hits and no walks while striking out eight batters over six innings.

Arrighetti allowed only seven Guardians to reach base, but six came around to score. That was the result of the right-hander serving up three homers, including two to rookie Travis Bazzana. Arrighetti had previously allowed just three long balls over his first 11 outings covering 63 innings this season, so it was unusual for him to struggle to keep the ball in the park. Despite Saturday's blowup, Arrighetti still has a solid 3.13 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 68:32 K:BB on the campaign. He's projected to make his next start on the road against the Tigers.

Buehler took a no-decision Saturday against Texas, allowing one run on five hits and one walk in 5.1 innings. He struck out seven.

Buehler tied a season high in punchouts Saturday, also matching his second longest start of the season. The 31-year-old right-hander has been dealing on the mound of late, working at least 4.2 innings while yielding exactly one run in four consecutive outings during the month of June. Buehler has a solid 3.96 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 65:23 K:BB over 72.2 frames, but he's next lined up for one of his toughest tests of the year against the Dodgers.

Sanchez (9-3) earned the win against the Mets on Saturday, allowing one run on five hits and one walk with five strikeouts over six innings.

Backed by an offensive outburst by the Phillies, Sanchez cruised to a quality-start victory. He surrendered a solo homer in the fourth inning but was otherwise fantastic, throwing 61 of 91 pitches for strikes with 10 whiffs. It was a nice response after the southpaw allowed four runs Sunday, and he's now logged a quality start in nine of his past 10 outings. He'll take a 1.80 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 121:20 K:BB across 105 innings this season into a road matchup against the Nationals next week.

Athletics manager Mark Kotsay said that Gelof came in Saturday "just not feeling at his best," so he decided to give Gelof a full day off, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

On a positive note, Kotsay confirmed that Gelof did not need to go through concussion protocol after being hit on the earflap of his helmet in the 10th inning of Friday's game. Further, the skipper said Gelof could be back as soon as Sunday. Gelof is currently riding a 23-game hitting streak, during which he's slashed .360/.412/.596 with six doubles, five homers, 13 RBI and 16 runs.

Varsho went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Saturday's 8-6 win over the Cubs.

Returning to the lineup after being out since June 9 due to a wrist issue, Varsho made a quick impact when he turned on a seventh-inning fastball from former teammate Trent Thornton and drove it down the right-field line, producing the Blue Jays' first runs of the game and sparking a wild late comeback. The long ball was Varsho's sixth in 65 games this season, to go along with a .256/.329/.419 slash line, five steals, 20 RBI and 28 runs.

Cantillo (6-3) earned the win over Houston on Saturday, allowing one run on four hits and one walk while striking out nine batters over eight innings.

Cantillo had his best stuff working Saturday, as he racked up an impressive 20 whiffs and tied a season high with nine punchouts. The left-hander hadn't gone more than six frames in any of his previous 15 starts this season, but he was able to give Cleveland eight innings Saturday, marking the second time in his career he's pitched that deep into a game. Cantillo has had his share of ups and downs in 2026, but he's given up one or zero earned runs seven times through 16 outings. He's managed a 6-3 record despite a 4.05 ERA and 1.40 WHIP while notching a 76:37 K:BB across 80 innings.

Peralta (5-6) took the loss against the Phillies on Saturday, allowing 10 runs on 10 hits and one walk with two strikeouts over 2.2 innings.

Peralta was down 3-0 when he began a nightmare third frame in which he was charged with seven more runs. The 30-year-old yielded a career-high 10 earned runs overall in his shortest outing of the campaign, with his ERA rising from 3.90 to 4.83 for the season. He's now been charged with four earned runs or more in four of his past six starts. Peralta will take that inflated ERA, a 1.39 WHIP and 83:34 K:BB across 85.2 innings into a home matchup against the Cubs next week.

Varland struck out two over two scoreless innings of relief to record his 15th save of the season in an 8-6 win over the Cubs. He didn't allow a hit or a walk.

With the Blue Jays ahead 8-5 in the eighth inning, Mason Fluharty loaded the bases with nobody out, forcing manager John Schneider to turn to his closer much earlier than he wanted. Varland did allow an inherited runner to score on a fielder's choice, but he escaped the jam with no further damage before working around his own throwing error in the ninth. Varland hadn't pitched since Wednesday, but his 28 pitches in this one represented his biggest workload since May 22, so Toronto will likely try to steer away from him in Sunday's contest. On the season, the right-hander sports a 0.86 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 57:11 K:BB through 42 innings, and he has yet to blow a save chance.
