Young (head) is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Yankees.

Young was removed from Wednesday's contest due to dizziness. He's no longer experiencing dizziness but is still not feeling great, per Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times. With southpaw Max Fried on the bump for the Yankees, it make sense to give the left-handed-hitting Young a day off. Brendan Donovan is sliding over to second base, and Weston Wilson will play third base for the Mariners.

Simon is not in the lineup for Thursday's contest in Miami.

Simon had made six consecutive starts and went 8-for-23 at the plate during that stretch, but he will exit the lineup for Thursday's series finale. Brandon Lowe will get a start at designated hitter for the Pirates, while Nick Gonzales shifts to second base and Jared Triolo grabs a start at third base.

Rodriguez (hip) remains out of the lineup for Thursday's game in Miami.

Rodriguez hasn't played in nearly a week as he continues to battle left hip discomfort. The Pirates have been viewing the injury as a day-to-day situation, but the longer Rodriguez's absence drags on, the likelier a stint on the injured list becomes. Rafael Flores will start at catcher Thursday.

Bailey is absent from the lineup for Thursday's contest in Detroit.

It's the second straight day on the bench for Bailey, who is hitless across his last four contests. Austin Hedges will grab another start at catcher in Thursday's rubber match.

Martinez is not in the lineup for Thursday's contest in Detroit.

Martinez picked up four hits in the first two games of the series, but he'll grab a seat in Thursday's finale. Jo Adell is in left field and batting fifth for the Guardians.

Hernandez is absent from the lineup for Thursday's game versus the Pirates.

Hernandez started the previous four games and homered in Wednesday's contest, but he'll retreat to the bench for Thursday's series finale. Esteury Ruiz will occupy left field for Miami.

Ford went 2-for-5 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI in Wednesday's loss to the Cubs.

The 23-year-old backstop is taking advantage of a stretch in which the Nationals have seen plenty of left-handed pitching, including Chicago's David Peterson on Wednesday. Ford has started five of the last eight games, and over that span he's batting .300 (6-for-20) with four doubles, a homer, three RBI and six runs. Keibert Ruiz remains at the top of the depth chart, but Ford could muscle his way into something more like a timeshare, rather than being stuck on the short side of a platoon, if he keeps producing when he gets an opportunity.

Mack is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Pirates.

Mack will get a breather during Thursday's matinee after starting the first two games of the series. Agustin Ramirez will do the catching as the Marlins try to complete the sweep.

Ortiz went 1-for-2 with a solo home run in Wednesday's loss to the Cubs.

Andres Chaparro got the start at first base against southpaw David Peterson, but Ortiz came off the bench in the sixth inning and took Javier Assad deep. It was Ortiz's third homer in nine games since getting called up after the trade deadline, a stretch in which he's batting .292 (7-for-24) with five RBI while handling the strong side of a platoon at first base.

Lile went 2-for-4 with three RBI and a stolen base in Wednesday's loss to the Cubs.

Getting the nod at DH and batting eighth against southpaw David Peterson, Lile got the Nationals on the board in the second inning with an RBI single before bringing home two more runs in the fifth with another knock. It was Lile's third multi-hit performance in the last five games, and over 25 contests since the All-Star break he's compiled a .250/.290/.489 slash line with five homers, three steals, 11 runs and 20 RBI.
