Torrens went 2-for-4 with a walk, a home run, two runs scored and three RBI in Thursday's win over the Guardians.

The veteran catcher took Foster Griffin deep for a two-run shot in the second inning, putting the Mets in the lead for good in an eventual 13-6 victory. Torrens has gone yard in back-to-back starts, racking up five hits with seven RBI in those contests, and on the season he's put together a .234/.300/.359 slash line through 212 plate appearances with four homers, 26 runs and 27 RBI.

Long could be called up to the Marlins before the end of the season to fill a short-side platoon role in left field and at first base, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Acquired from the Cubs at the trade deadline in the Braxton Garrett deal, Long has had an up-and-down 2026 season at Triple-A, but since the beginning of July he boasts a .337/.425/.606 slash line with 13 doubles and five homers in 120 plate appearances. The 24-year-old could provide some balance to a heavily left-handed Miami lineup, but he would likely have a hard time winning consistent playing time.

Pinckney went 1-for-2 with a solo home run in Thursday's 7-3 loss to the Phillies.

Making his first MLB start and second appearance, Pinckney cut the Nats' deficit to 6-2 in the fourth inning with his first big-league hit, a 402-foot blast off Cristopher Sanchez. The 25-year-old outfielder was recalled from Triple-A Rochester after James Wood (oblique) landed on the IL earlier in the week. Pinckney figures to see most of his playing time against left-handed pitching, though he does offer some intriguing upside after slashing .271/.345/.425 with 13 homers and 18 steals in 94 Triple-A games this season.

Varland was charged with his first blown save of the season in Thursday's extra-innings loss to the Cubs, giving up two runs on two hits in the ninth inning without walking or striking out a batter.

The right-hander was called in to finish out a combined shutout, but instead Varland served up a homer to Alex Bregman to tie the game at 2-2, before Chicago finally won it in the 11th inning. Varland has had a bumpy beginning to August, allowing three earned runs in 2.2 innings over three appearances, but on the season he still sports a 1.38 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 74:16 K:BB through 58.2 frames while converting 24 of 25 save chances.

Tiedemann (elbow/neck) walked one in a scoreless inning of relief for Triple-A Buffalo on Wednesday.

Making his first appearance of the season for the Bisons, Tiedemann averaged 96.7 mph with his fastball, per Jesse Borek of MLB.com. The 23-year-old southpaw is expected to remain in the bullpen for the remainder of 2026, but the Blue Jays haven't ruled out trying him in the rotation again next season.

Perry (concussion) tossed three scoreless, no-hit innings for Double-A New Hampshire on Thursday, walking one batter and striking out four.

The 22-year-old right-hander had last pitched July 19, when he took a comebacker off the side of his head, but after clearing the concussion protocol Perry didn't skip a beat. The Blue Jays' top pitching prospect is climbing the ladder in a hurry after returning from Tommy John surgery that cost him all of 2025 -- he began the year at Single-A Dunedin, and across three levels of the minors he's delivered a 2.29 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 89:20 K:BB in just 59 innings. Toronto may not want to push him too much farther this season, but Perry may be on track for a 2027 big-league debut if he continues to dominate in the high minors.

The Mets outrighted Conley to Double-A Binghamton on Thursday.

Conley didn't make an appearance for the Mets before being removed from their 40-man roster. He will remain in the organization after passing through waivers unclaimed.

The Athletics outrighted Bowden to Triple-A Las Vegas on Thursday.

He cleared waivers after being scrubbed from the A's 40-man roster. Bowden has the option to become a free agent rather than accept an outright assignment, but it's unclear what he plans to do. The 31-year-old allowed four runs in one inning during his lone appearance for the Athletics.

Mahle will make his Atlanta debut with a start Friday against the Yankees in New York.

Acquired from the Giants over the weekend, Mahle will slot into the back end of the Atlanta rotation as a replacement for Reynaldo Lopez (knee), who landed on the injured list Sunday. Mahle took advantage of a favorable home park in San Francisco by delivering a 2.65 ERA and 1.14 WHIP over nine starts, but those ratios swelled to a 8.04 ERA and 1.69 WHIP in nine starts away from Oracle Park. The right-hander profiles as a high-risk fantasy option Friday at Yankee Stadium, which is notoriously friendly for left-handed power hitters like Ben Rice, Jazz Chisholm and Luis Garcia.

Harris went 3-for-5 with a double, a triple, three runs scored and two RBI in Thursday's win over the Marlins.

The triple was Harris' first of the season, and the center fielder is up to 45 extra-base hits (including 24 doubles and 20 homers) through just 109 games. Over 20 contests since the All-Star break, Harris has delivered a .280/.294/.549 slash line with four long balls, 13 runs and 13 RBI.
