Williams (elbow) struck out three and allowed three earned runs on six hits and two walks across 3.1 innings in a rehab start Sunday with High-A Wilmington.

Williams has now made five rehab starts across stops at five different affiliates, compiling a 4.09 ERA, 1.55 WHIP and 13:3 K:BB in 11 innings. The 3.1 innings and 60 pitches Williams handled Sunday marked the highest totals of his rehab assignment, as the Nationals are seemingly having him build up slowly in his return from internal brace surgery. Given the unremarkable results he's submitted thus far during his time in the minors in addition to rehabbing starter Jake Irvin (shoulder) also closing in on a return from the 60-day injured list, Williams may not be in line for a spot in the Washington rotation once he's activated.

Irvin (shoulder) struck out five and allowed one hit and no walks over 4.2 scoreless innings Sunday in a rehab start with Double-A Harrisburg.

Making the second start of his rehab assignment, Irvin built up to 51 pitches (35 strikes) while facing one batter over the minimum. The right-hander has looked strong in the minors thus far as he works his way back from a shoulder strain, as he's yet to allow a run and has posted an 8:0 K:BB across 7.2 innings. He'll likely need to get stretched out to around 70-to-80 pitches over the course of one or two more rehab starts before returning from the 60-day injured list.

White went 0-for-2 with a walk in Sunday's 5-2 loss to the Nationals.

White made his major-league debut in Friday's series opener, going 1-for-4 with a double. After being held out of the lineup for Saturday's 15-1 win, White re-entered the starting nine at first base Sunday and went hitless but drew his first major-league walk in the bottom of the seventh inning. White will likely continue to see work at both first base and third base in the absence of Nick Kurtz (thumb) and Zack Gelof (knee).

Beeter allowed one run on one hit and one walk while striking out two over 1.1 innings to earn the save in Sunday's 5-2 win over the Athletics.

Beeter cleaned up a mess inherited from Tom Cosgrove in the eighth inning. In the ninth, the Athletics were able to scrape together a run, but Beeter never let the game get dangerous as he closed out his eighth save and his first since July 6. The reliever had allowed just one run over nine innings between June 9 and July 10 before a meltdown versus the Yankees on July 11. For the season, he has a 3.77 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 33:19 K:BB through 28.2 innings while adding eight saves, five holds and five blown saves.

Griffin allowed one run on eight hits and one walk while striking out two over seven innings to earn the win over the Athletics on Sunday.

Griffin gave up three doubles among the eight hits but was mostly able to keep the Athletics' offense in check. The All-Star break hasn't slowed him down -- he's allowed exactly one run in eight straight starts, covering 50.1 innings with a 46:6 K:BB in that span. For the season, he's maintained an excellent 2.68 ERA with a 1.03 WHIP and 111:27 K:BB through 117.1 innings over 20 starts. He'll look to keep the hot streak going in a home start versus the Diamondbacks next weekend.

Carroll was removed from Sunday's contest against the Cardinals in the ninth inning with an undisclosed injury, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.

Carroll was spotted grimacing after striking out swinging in his fourth at-bat of the day in the seventh inning, and he was replaced at the plate by Jorge Barrosa with two outs in the bottom of the ninth. Carroll finished his day having gone 1-for-4 with a pair of strikeouts, and more information on the exact diagnosis of his injury will likely be provided in the near future.

Lopez (4-4) allowed two runs on two hits, two walks and two hit batsmen while striking out six over 4.1 innings to take the loss versus the Nationals on Sunday.

Lopez is occupying the rotation spot previously held by Aaron Civale, who was designated for assignment Wednesday and subsequently traded to the Cubs on Saturday. This was a mediocre showing for Lopez, though he was able to avoid giving up a home run. He threw 52 of 84 pitches for strikes and may need to stretch out a bit after some time in the bullpen. He has a 6.64 ERA, 1.73 WHIP and 49:36 K:BB through 59.2 innings over 15 games (12 starts) this season. Lopez is lined up to make his next appearance on the road in Minnesota.

Mize is dealing with groin tightness and a wrist injury following his early departure from Sunday's 3-2 loss to the Angels, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Mize left the game in the fourth inning after being struck in the left hand/wrist by a ground ball off the bat of Jo Adell, and he is also dealing with an apparent groin issue. The 29-year-old is expected to undergo additional testing on the groin, but Mize described his removal from Sunday's contest as precautionary. The right-handed pitcher is tentatively set to toe the rubber next at home against the Royals on Friday, and it's unclear if he's in danger of missing that outing.

Schmitt went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and a run scored in Sunday's 6-3 loss to the Mariners.

Schmitt is hitting .254 (15-for-59) with three home runs, seven RBI and two steals over 14 contests in July. The utility man is now batting .278 with a .795 OPS, 19 home runs, nine steals, 50 RBI and 44 runs scored over 91 contests. He'll volume his way to career highs in most areas this season, though he's coupled that with a better ability to put the ball in play -- he's posted a meager 2.6 percent walk rate, but his 19.2 percent strikeout rate is notably improved compared to previous years.

Eldridge went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk and a stolen base in Sunday's 6-3 loss to the Mariners.

Eldridge had no problems with the pitcher-friendly T-Mobile Park over the weekend, going 4-for-12 with two homers during the three-game set in Seattle. His homer Sunday came in the first inning, and it was his 10th long ball of the season. He also logged the first steal of his career during the eighth inning. Eldridge is batting .275 with an .858 OPS, 23 RBI, 30 runs scored and 13 doubles across 57 contests.
