The Blue Jays recalled Estrada from Triple-A Buffalo on Saturday, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Estrada will make his way back to Toronto after making just one appearance with the big-league club after being reinstated from the injured list June 20. With Buffalo, the 27-year-old appeared in eight games, registering a 3.00 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 16:5 K:BB in 18 innings. The Blue Jays optioned Adam Macko after a rough stretch out of the bullpen to make room for Estrada on the active roster.

Friedl isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Rockies.

Friedl will retreat to the dugout for Saturday's contest after going 0-for-3 with a walk in Friday's win. While he sits, Dane Myers will patrol center field and bat seventh.

Stephenson isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against Colorado.

Stephenson will get a breather after going 1-for-4 with three strikeouts during Friday's second-half opener. Jose Trevino will fill in behind the dish and bat eighth.

Lewis isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Cubs due to left hamstring soreness, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

Manager Derek Shelton said Lewis has already begun to feel better since reporting to the ballpark Saturday, but the Twins will keep him on the bench as a precaution. His absence will put Josh Bell at first base, moving Ryan Jeffers to the DH spot and giving Victor Caratini a start at catcher.

Triolo isn't in the lineup for the first game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Guardians.

Triolo has made six straight starts at shortstop and closed out the first half with a three-hit performance against Milwaukee, but the Pirates will keep him on the bench to begin Saturday's twin bill. Jacob Gonzalez will get the nod at shortstop and bat eighth.

Schmitt went 2-for-5 with a stolen base and a run scored in Friday's 7-0 win over the Mariners.

Schmitt singled in the fifth inning and subsequently stole second, marking his first stolen base since June 16. He added another base hit in the seventh before coming around to score. The 27-year-old has recorded at least one hit in five consecutive contests, batting .381 with five RBI, four runs scored and two home runs in 23 plate appearances during that time. He's now slashing .282/.309/.496 with 50 RBI, 43 runs scored, 19 long balls and eight stolen bases across 375 plate appearances this season.

The Pirates reinstated Dotel (lat) from the injured list Saturday and appointed him as their 27th man for the team's doubleheader against the Guardians.

Dotel landed on the injured list June 13 with a right lat strain. Since then, he's made three rehab appearances in the minors, giving up one run on three hits and three walks while fanning seven batters in 4.2 innings. Now fully healthy, he'll help the Pirates' bullpen get through Saturday's twin bill before likely heading back to Triple-A Indianapolis.

Cavanaugh went 2-for-2 with two walks and a run scored in Friday's 7-0 win over the Mariners.

Cavanaugh singled in the fifth inning before coming around to score, and he added another base hit in the seventh. He also drew walks in the third and sixth innings. The 24-year-old catcher has recorded two multi-hit performances over his last four games and is now slashing .265/.390/.265 with two RBI and two runs scored in 42 plate appearances this season. He's expected to operate as Daniel Susac's primary backup moving forward.

Eldridge went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Friday's 7-0 win over the Mariners.

Eldridge launched a home run to center field in the fifth inning, giving San Francisco a 2-0 lead. The 21-year-old has reached base safely in all but one of his 12 games in July, slashing .244/.333/.489 with six RBI, six runs scored and three long balls in 51 plate appearances during that span. Overall, he's slashing .269/.360/.477 with 29 runs scored, 22 RBI and nine home runs across 222 plate appearances this season.

The Pirates transferred Cruz (hand) to the 60-day injured list Saturday, Alex Stumpf of MLB.com reports.

Cruz hasn't suffered any setbacks in his recovery from a hand fracture he suffered in June, but the Pirates will move him to the 60-day IL to free up a 40-man spot for Khristian Curtis, who was selected to the active roster Saturday. Cruz will now be eligible to return from the injured list Aug. 8 and figures to have a strong chance to return after a minimum-length stay if his rehab continues smoothly.
