Atlanta manager Walt Weiss said Friday that Schwellenbach (elbow) lacks a clear timeline to begin a rehab assignment, Chad Bishop of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Atlanta had some hope that the 26-year-old right-hander would be able to make his season debut before the end of August, but he'll need to get back into game action in the minors within the next week or two for that to be a realistic possibility. Schwellenbach is recovering from a fractured elbow he suffered last June, having put together a 3.09 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 108:18 K:BB through 110.2 innings in 2025 up to that point.

Chaparro went 4-for-5 with two home runs, eight total RBI and four total runs scored in Friday's 23-4 win over the A's.

Chaparro went yard twice in this game, launching a two-run blast off Jose Suarez in the fifth inning and a three-run long ball off Yunior Tur in the seventh. Chaparro has three homers this season, and all of them have come since the beginning of July. He's played just seven games since the beginning of the month but has been productive in a small sample, hitting .429 with a 1.538 OPS in 15 plate appearances. Those numbers aren't sustainable, but Chaparro could be a player to look at as a waiver pickup as long as he's carrying a hot bat.

Atlanta manager Walt Weiss said Friday that Strider (elbow) will have a follow-up appointment with Dr. Keith Meister next week and may also be scheduled for an MRI, Chad Bishop of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

The right-hander was originally shut down June 16 for a period of about four weeks after an initial MRI revealed no structural damage. A return to the big-league roster in late August would seem to be the best-case scenario for Strider, but Weiss didn't sound optimistic while discussing when the 2023 All-Star might be back with Atlanta. Through just 39 innings this season, Strider has a 5.31 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 46:20 K:BB.

Vargas started at first base and went 1-for-4 with a triple in Friday's 5-4 loss to St. Louis.

Vargas stepped in at first base, which has become a revolving door for Arizona; the team ranks last in the league at the position with a .594 OPS. With Pavin Smith designated for assignment, Vargas and Tim Tawa are filling the void. Those two will compete with Tyler Locklear, who was called up Friday and raked at Triple-A Reno (.895 OPS). The switch-hitting Vargas could have an edge against right-handers, but he's batted just .149 (18-for-121) over the last 44 games.

Mead went 4-for-6 with three doubles, three RBI and four runs scored in Friday's win over the Athletics.

Mead is up to 16 doubles on the season, and he's been seeing the ball extremely well of late. He's hit safely in all but one of his last 10 games, posting six multi-hit performances and slashing .439/.500/.829 with a 1.329 OPS, three homers, five doubles, a triple, eight RBI, 10 runs scored and a stolen base over that stretch.

Cavalli (6-4) earned the win Friday over the Athletics, allowing two runs on four hits while striking out nine over six innings. He did not issue a walk.

Cavalli gave up a two-run homer to Tyler Soderstrom in the bottom of the fourth inning, but that would be all the damage he'd allow en route to his fourth quality start in his last five appearances. In that five-game stretch, Cavalli owns a 2.96 ERA and 0.88 WHIP with a 12.2 K/9 across 27.1 innings. He'll aim to keep it going in his next start, scheduled against the Rockies at Coors Field.

Jump (3-5) was tagged with the loss Friday against the Nationals after allowing four runs (three earned) on four hits and two walks across 3.2 innings. He struck out eight.

The eight punchouts were a nice thing to see, as Jump ended just one away from matching his previous season-high mark in that category, but that was the lone positive aspect of this outing for the 23-year-old southpaw. He's now given up at least four runs in three of his last four appearances, and he's failed to complete four innings in two of the last three. He owns a woeful 7.41 ERA and 2.06 WHIP across 17 innings over the aforementioned four-game stretch. His next start is scheduled to be on the road against the Diamondbacks.

Tawa started in center field and went 2-for-4 with a double and a solo home run in Friday's 5-4 loss to the Cardinals.

Tawa, who entered the break on a three-game hit streak, extended it to four games with a third-inning solo homer that tied the game at 2-2. He's gone 9-for-17 with three home runs, three doubles and eight RBI during the hit streak. With news that Tommy Troy (shoulder) will miss multiple weeks, Tawa is poised to help fill the void in center field along with Ryan Waldschmidt. Tawa has also been getting time at first base, a position where the Diamondbacks rank last in MLB with a .594 OPS.

Cole (3-5) took the loss Friday, allowing two runs on four hits and a walk over six-plus innings as the Yankees fell 2-1 to the Dodgers. He struck out eight.

The veteran righty took a shutout into the seventh inning, but a leadoff walk to Mookie Betts was followed by a Max Muncy homer, and that was all the offense the visitors would need. Cole had to settle for his second straight quality start and fifth in 10 trips to the mound since he made his belated season debut in late May, and he'll take a 3.93 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 55:12 K:BB through 55 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come at home next week against the Pirates.

Langeliers went 1-for-4 with a home run and three strikeouts in Friday's loss to the Nationals.

Langeliers went yard in the final game before the All-Star break and picked it up right where he left off, slugging his 22nd homer of the season with a blast to left field in the bottom of the ninth. Langeliers ranks second among all MLB catchers in homers and looks on pace to surpass the career-high mark of 31 long balls he established last season.
