Gordon (coach's decision) went unused in Friday's 116-106 loss to the Lakers. The 76ers were down Tyrese Maxey (hamstring) on Friday and will be without the star point guard for the foreseeable future, but his absence wasn't enough for the struggling Gordon to keep his spot in the rotation. Rather than keeping Gordon in the fold as a backup on the wing, the 76ers opened up more playing time for Jared McCain (31 minutes) and Ricky Council (15 minutes), while Reggie Jackson (11 minutes) served as the primary backup to Kyle Lowry (32 minutes), who started at point guard in place of Maxey. Gordon had appeared in each of the 76ers' first seven games but averaged 7.0 points in 21.0 minutes while shooting 40.5 percent from the field and 33.3 percent from beyond the arc.

Gordon produced one point (0-2 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-2 FT), one rebound and two assists over 17 minutes during Wednesday's 110-98 loss to the Clippers. Gordon tallied a season-low one point during Wednesday's loss. For the first time in 2024-25, the veteran guard recorded more turnovers (four) than assists (two). Across his last five appearances, Gordon is averaging 7.8 points and 1.4 assists in 21.0 minutes.

Gordon finished with 10 points (4-6 FG, 2-3 3Pt), one rebound and two assists over 22 minutes during Saturday's 124-107 loss to the Grizzlies. Gordon scored double-digits for just the second time this season, continuing what has been a modest start to his career in Philadelphia. His days of being an elite three-point threat are now well behind him, having connected on five triples across the first five games. For the sake of the 76ers, the hope is that the return of Paul George and Joel Embiid from knee injuries will ease Gordon's usage.

Gordon isn't in the starting lineup for Friday's game versus the Raptors, Josh Lewenberg of TSN.ca reports. Gordon will be replaced by Kyle Lowry in the starting five Friday. Gordon came off the bench in 44 of his 68 regular-season appearances for Phoenix last year, so he is no stranger to this role.

Gordon amassed three points (1-5 FG, 1-3 3PT) in 18 minutes during Friday's 114-99 preseason loss to the Magic. Gordon was given the starting nod Friday but failed to deliver. Now in the twilight of his career, Gordon is merely a depth piece for the 76ers, providing them with a three-point scoring threat off the bench. While he will almost certainly have a handful of vintage performances throughout the season, Gordon is not someone who needs to be drafted, even in deeper formats.
