Jewell (groin) practiced in a limited capacity Thursday. Jewell wasn't listed on the injury report Wednesday, so his groin issue appears to have popped up during practice. The starting linebacker's participation level Friday figures to be telling for his availability against the Chargers on Sunday.

Jewell recorded 108 tackles (60 solo), including 3.0 sacks, three passes defensed, two forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries over 16 contests during the 2023 campaign. Jewell finished his sixth season in Denver with the second-most tackles behind Alex Singleton. The veteran linebacker's 3.0 sacks and three fumble recoveries were both career highs for each category. Jewell is set to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason, and the Broncos may be compelled to re-sign him ahead of the 2024 campaign based on his consistent production. The 29-year-old will look to pick up where he left off as a strong IDP option next season.

Jewell had nine tackles (four solo), including one sack, in Sunday's 24-7 win over the Chargers. Jewell got his second sack in three games when he got to Justin Herbert in the second quarter for a six-yard loss. Jewell has seen his snap total increase since the bye week, and his 62 defensive snaps was the most he's played this season. He's up to 78 tackles on the year, which is a distant second on the team behind Alex Singleton (136).

Jewell tallied three tackles (two solo), including a sack, in Denver's 29-12 win versus the Browns on Sunday. Jewell recorded his first sack of the season versus Cleveland and now has seven in his career. The 28-year-old will look to build off his strong performance when the Broncos take on Houston later this week.

Jewell (hip) was a full participant at practice Thursday. After sitting out of Sunday's 31-28 win at Chicago, it looks like Jewell is now back to full strength for Week 5. He'll resume his role as Denver's top off-ball linebacker versus Breece Hall and the Jets.
