Tranquill combined with Felix Anudike-Uzomah for an eight-yard sack on Baker Mayfield late in the fourth quarter of Monday's game. Tranquill is now up to 45 tackles (27 solo), including 1.5 sacks, and one fumble recovery through the first eight games of the regular season.

Tranquill registered his first sack of the 2024 regular season Sunday as he got to Gardner Minshew for a three-yard loss on the first play of the second quarter. Midway through the fourth quarter, Minshew was stripped of the ball by Mike Pennel, and Tranquill was in the right place at the right time to scoop up the ball, which led to a nine-yard touchdown pass from Patrick Mahomes to Xavier Worthy eight plays later. Through the first seven games of the regular season, Tranquill has totaled 38 tackles (24 solo), including 1.0 sacks, and one fumble recovery.

Tranquill registered seven tackles (three solo) in Sunday's 26-25 win over the Bengals. Tranquill tied with Nick Bolton and Justin Reid for the most tackles on the Chiefs on Sunday. Tranquill played just 48 of the Chiefs' 64 defensive snaps, but the 2019 fourth-round pick remains a key piece to Kansas City's run defense. Tranquill will have his hands full against running back Bijan Robinson and the Falcons in Week 3.

Tranquill compiled 79 tackles (54 solo), including 4.5 sacks, and forced two fumbles during the 2023 regular season. While the Chiefs still counted on Tranquill to produce when he was on the field, his 552 snaps in 2023 pale in comparison to the 935 he logged a season ago in the final year of his rookie deal with the Chargers, hence the near halving of his 146 tackles from 2022. Tranquill's contract granted him just a season in KC, so he'll head to the offseason looking for a new deal in 2024.
