• Raiders' Luke Masterson: Lands on IR with knee injury

  The Raiders placed Masterson (knee) on injured reserve Saturday. Masterson popped up on the Raiders' injury report Wednesday with a knee injury, and he was ruled out ahead of Sunday's game against the Broncos. However, the knee injury appears to be severe enough to warrant a stint on injured reserve. The 26-year-old linebacker will be forced to sit for at least the next four games, meaning the earliest he can return is Week 9 against the Bengals on Nov. 3. Amari Gainer, Amari Burney and Tommy Eichenberg are candidates to slide into the starting linebacker spot vacated by Masterson.

  Masterson (knee) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Broncos, Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com reports. Masterson didn't practice Thursday after logging a limited session Wednesday, so it's no surprise that the Wake Forest product won't suit up Sunday. Expect Amari Gainer to serve as the Raiders' top strongside linebacker while Masterson continues to recover from his knee injury.

  Masterson recorded six total tackles (five solo) in Sunday's 20-16 win over the Browns. Masterson was once again thrust into a more significant role at linebacker with Divine Deablo (oblique/concussion) unavailable for the second game in a row. Masterson finished second to Robert Spillane on the team in tackles and he has now compiled 17 total tackles (10 solo) over four games in 2024.

  Masterson recorded 10 tackles (six solo) in Saturday's 13-10 loss to the Steelers. While the Raiders continue to deal with numerous injuries within their linebacker corps, Masterson has seemingly stepped up into the team's primary rotation over the last few weeks. He's now logged back-to-back games with double-digit stops, and the rookie will likely remain a key defensive contributor over the final two contests of the 2022-23 campaign.
