The Chargers re-signed Fox on Wednesday, Lindsey Thiry of ESPN.com reports. Fox recorded career highs in tackles (38) and sacks (6.5) while playing every regular-season game during his first campaign with the Chargers in 2022. The 27-year-old defensive lineman has not missed a game since returning from a torn ACL suffered during OTAs with the Rams in 2018. He's also seen his overall production increase year-over-year while going from the Rams to the Panthers to the Chargers over the past four seasons. Fox will now look to maintain his starting role while on a new two-year on contract with the Bolts, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Fox totaled four tackles (three solo), including a sack, in Sunday's 31-10 victory versus the Rams. Fox made an impact early in the contest, sacking Baker Mayfield on the Rams' first drive of the game. It was Fox's fourth sack in his past four games after he notched just 2.5 sacks over his first 12 contests. With Sunday's sack, the veteran is up to 6.5 sacks on the campaign, surpassing the previous career-best six he set in 2020 while with the Rams.

Fox registered six tackles (five solo) and two sacks in Monday's 20-3 win over the Colts. While the Chargers' pass-rushing corps continues to struggle with injury concerns, Fox stepped up with a career-high six stops in Week 16, while he also compiled his first two-sack performance as a professional Monday. The 28-year-old needs just two more tackles and one more sack to reach new career highs in those categories, and he'll have an opportunity to achieve those marks come New Year's Day against the Rams.

Fox agreed to a contract with the Chargers on Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports. Fox will reunite with Chargers head coach Brandon Staley, who was the defensive coordinator for the Rams in 2020 when Fox recorded a career-high six sacks. The defensive end struggled in his lone season in Carolina in 2021, but he'll look to bounce back while playing in a more familiar scheme in 2022.

Fox (knee) signed his exclusive rights free agent tender with the Rams on Monday, Myles Simmons of the team's official sitee reports. Fox spent the 2018 season sidelined due to an ACL tear sustained during OTAs last offseason. He'll work towards achieving full health heading into the Rams' offseason program. The 24-year-old projects to suit up as a rotational defensive end, when healthy.
