• Steelers' Rico Dowdle: Rushing TD in big win

  3D ago • By RotoWire

Dowdle rushed 15 times for 56 yards and a touchdown in the Steelers' 27-6 win over the Browns on Sunday. Dowdle finished just two carries behind Jaylen Warren on the afternoon, and although his backfield mate significantly outpaced him in yardage, the former made his fantasy mark when he opened the scoring on the day with a nine-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. Dowdle recorded new season highs in rush attempts and rushing yards as the Steelers had the luxury of leaning heavily on the ground attack, but Warren remains the backfield's clear No. 1 option heading into the Week 9 bye.

Dowdle carried the ball nine times for 41 yards and caught all six of his targets for 45 yards in Sunday's 16-10 win over New Orleans. The 15 touches were a season high for Dowdle, but he still took a back seat to Jaylen Warren's 21 touches and 137 scrimmage yards in the Steelers' backfield. Dowdle also led the team in receptions on the day, and his own 86 combined yards were a season high. Pittsburgh could stay with its ground-heavy game plan in Week 8 against Cleveland, giving Dowdle some fantasy appeal even in his backup role.

• Steelers' Rico Dowdle: Available to play in Paris

  10D ago • By RotoWire

Dowdle (knee) is active for Sunday's game against the Saints in Paris, Nick Farabaugh of PennLive.com reports. After missing three straight games due to a dislocated toe, Dowdle made his return to action in last week's overtime win over the Buccaneers, finishing with 40 yards on seven carries and nine yards on three receptions. However, he seemingly emerged from that contest with a new knee issue, which limited his participation in Week 7 prep and resulted in him being listed as questionable heading into Sunday. The Steelers were apparently encouraged enough by how Dowdle looked in pregame warmups to clear him to play against the Saints, and the 28-year-old should be ready to work in his usual complementary role behind lead back Jaylen Warren.

Dowdle (knee) was a limited participant in Friday's practice and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Saints in Paris, NFL insider Adam Caplan reports. A limited participant participant all week, Dowdle seems more likely than not to play. He's no longer listed with the toe injury that kept him out for multiple games, instead dealing with a knee issue. Pittsburgh's inactive list will be released around 8:00 a.m. ET on Sunday.

• Steelers' Rico Dowdle: Questionable for Week 7

Dowdle (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Saints in Paris, Alan Saunders of SteelersNow.com reports. The Steelers did not practice Friday because of poor weather in Paris, but if they had Dowdle would have been limited with the knee injury -- different than the toe issue he was dealing with previously -- for a third straight day. The Steelers will practice Saturday and could provide an update on Dowdle's status after the session concludes, otherwise his status for Week 7 will be revealed when Pittsburgh releases its inactives 90 minutes before Sunday's 9:30 a.m. ET kickoff.
