Uche finished the 2024 season with 23 total tackles (17 solo), including 2.0 sacks, over 13 regular-season games with the Patriots and Chiefs. Uche was dealt to Kansas City in late October after spending the first four-plus seasons of his career with the Patriots. The defensive end was limited to just 2.0 sacks this season, his lowest total since his rookie season in 2020. Uche will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason, potentially looking to join a new team, though sticking around Kansas City isn't usually a bad idea.

New England traded Uche to Kansas City on Monday in exchange for a sixth-round draft pick, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Uche sat out of the Patriots' contest in Week 8 amid rumors they were shopping him, and now he's bound for the Chiefs ahead of Week 9. With Kansas City dealing with a few different injuries at the defensive end position, Uche could see significant playing time on the edge across from George Karlaftis right away.

Uche does not have an injury, but he will be held out of Sunday's game amid trade speculation ahead of the Nov. 5 deadline, per Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports. The 2020 second-round pick has seen his snap count decrease over the last couple of weeks, and through seven regular-season outings he's posted 13 tackles (10 solo), including 2.0 sacks. With Uche inactive for Sunday's contest, Ochaun Mathis and Raekwon McMillan are the top candidates to start at outside linebacker alongside Anfernee Jennings.

Uche (foot) was a limited participant at the Patriots' practice Wednesday. Uche was able to play through his foot injury in Week 1 versus the Bengals, though he was limited to just 15 total snaps between defense and special teams. The linebacker will have two more chances to attempt to participate fully at practice before Sunday's contest at home versus Seattle.
