Toney (undisclosed), who is a member of the Browns' practice squad, is back at practice Thursday, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports. Toney has practiced both Wednesday and Thursday, and he looks healthy after having missed over a month due to an undisclosed injury. With Amari Cooper now a member of the Bills, Toney may be a candidate to elevate from the practice squad and bolster Cleveland's wide-receiver corps as early as Sunday versus the Ravens.

Toney (undisclosed) will not practice with the Browns this week, Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com reports. Toney signed with Cleveland's practice squad Sept. 9 but has been out of action with the injury since Sept. 11 and will seemingly remain out until at least next week. It's not yet clear what plans the Browns have for the former Chiefs wideout, but he'll need to get healthy first, to earn a spot on their 53-man roster.

The Browns hosted Toney for a tryout Friday, Field Yates of ESPN reports. Toney recently visited with the Seahawks, but he ended up departing Seattle without a deal. It was reported that he had one more workout lined up, after which he would make a decision on whether to sign with one of the two suitors. With Cleveland being revealed as the second team in the mix, Toney's decision could come down to where he feels he has the best opportunity to contribute. In either case, he'd likely have to start on the practice squad, but the Browns are relatively thin at receiver behind Amari Cooper, Jerry Jeudy and Elijah Moore, especially after having waived David Bell on Thursday.

Toney (back) was not seen in pregame warmups for the Chiefs' preseason opener against the Jaguars on Saturday, Blair Kerkhoff of The Kansas City Star reports. Toney has battled separate ankle and back injuries during training camp, and the 2021 first-round pick will be held out of Saturday's preseason tilt. He may get some reps in Kansas City's second preseason game against Detroit on Aug. 17, if healthy. Toney is competing for a depth spot at wide receiver, and he's also been utilized out of the backfield and on special teams as a returner during training camp.

Toney (ankle) returned to practice Monday, Adam Teicher of ESPN.com reports. Toney left practice last Wednesday with an ankle injury, but the 2021 first-rounder's return to the field Monday bodes well for his chances of being available for Saturday's preseason opener against the Jaguars. He's coming off a 2023 regular season in which he caught 27 of his 38 targets for 169 yards and a TD to go along with 11 carries for 31 yards in 13 contests. While Toney still has a chance to claim a role in the Chiefs' re-tooled wideout corps in 2024, at this stage Rashee Rice, Marquise Brown and Xavier Worthy profile as the team's most fantasy-relevant options at the position.
