However, Wednesday's injury report suggests that the 2023 third-round pick from Oregon has moved past his injury. Expect Johnson to serve as one of the Panthers' top rotational outside linebackers once again in Week 10, when the team travels to Germany to face the Giants.

Johnson injured his ankle in last week's loss to the Broncos and had to be carted to the locker room. Still, he surprisingly drew a questionable designation for this week's game. He will ultimately be unable to give it a go. In his absence, Cam Gill will be a candidate to see increased snaps providing depth at strongside linebacker.

The severity of the injury should be known following Sunday's game, and the injury could jeopardize his chance of playing in Week 9 against New Orleans on Sunday, Nov. 3. Thomas Incoom will see more rotational snaps at linebacker behind Charles Harris and Jadeveon Clowney.

Johnson suffered a knee injury in mid-June, but he appears to have made a full recovery. The 25-year-old is battling to crack Carolina's active roster as a depth option at weakside linebacker in 2024.

Johnson wasn't heavily involved during his rookie campaign and now could be dealing with a significant setback in his attempt to make a bigger impact in 2024. However, the type and severity of the Oregon product's injury are still unknown until what will likely be further testing takes place.
