Rumph (foot) was placed on injured reserve by the Chargers on Tuesday. Rumph suffered a foot injury in the Chargers' preseason matchup with the Seahawks on Aug. 12 and he'll now be forced to miss the 2024 season as a result. The linebacker will now shift his focus to being ready to go for training camp in 2025.

Rumph (foot) was spotted doing individual drills during Wednesday's mandatory minicamp session, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports. Head coach Jim Harbaugh told reporters that Rumph is still "working through" an injury, but it seems his recovery process is moving in the right direction after breaking his foot early into the Chargers' 2023 campaign. Once Rumph is back at full health, he's expected to compete for a depth role in Los Angeles' outside linebacker corps.

Rumph announced Thursday via his personal Instagram account that he underwent successful surgery to address a broken foot suffered ahead of Sunday's 41-38 loss to the Lions, Kris Rhim of ESPN.com reports. Rumph suffered the injury during pregame warmups and was placed on injured reserve Wednesday. The Duke product has also already been ruled out for the remainder of the season and will now focus on his recovery to make a return to full health for the 2024 campaign.

The Chargers placed Rumph (foot) on injured reserve Wednesday. Rumph suffered a broken foot ahead of last week's loss to the Lions and didn't play in Week 10. He's now out a minimum of four games but likely longer. Rumph was a sub-package, part-time player on defense for the Chargers and also played significantly on special teams.

Rumph sustained a fractured foot during pregame warmups Sunday and is expected to miss the remainder of the season, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. It's not a totally trivial loss for the Chargers, who were relying on Rumph to play around 15 defensive snaps per game when he was active. For the remainder of the season, they'll be relatively thin on the edge behind Khalil Mack, Joey Bosa and Tuli Tuipulotu.
