The Chiefs waived Smith on Friday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Smith did not appear in a regular-season game in 2023, and now Kansas City has decided to let him go ahead of 2024. He'll have to look for his next opportunity with a different squad.

Smith signed a reserve/future contract with the Chiefs on Wednesday, Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com reports. Smith spent a portion of the 2023 campaign on the Titans' practice squad and he'll now get another opportunity with Kansas City. The wide receiver will look to impress and potentially earn a an active roster spot with the Chiefs in 2024.

Tennessee signed Smith to its practice squad Tuesday, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports. Smith was waived by Carolina prior to Week 1, but he's found another opportunity to make an impression with a new team ahead of Week 4. Tennessee's pecking order for targets is pretty well-established after three weeks though, so it would take a slew of injuries for Smith to see a significant number in 2023.

The Panthers waived Smith on Tuesday, Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer reports. Smith played in all 17 games for Carolina last season, recording a 22-296-2 receiving line on 41 targets while also contributing in the return game. He seems a likely candidate to earn a spot on the team's practice squad if another club doesn't claim him off waivers.

Smith caught his only target for a 20-yard gain in Saturday's 27-0 preseason loss to the Jets. Smith's reception came during the fourth quarter while playing with quarterback Matt Corral. Amid many offseason additions on offense, Smith is among those competing for a roster spot behind veterans Adam Thielen and DJ Chark this season.
