Swift remains positioned atop Chicago's backfield alongside Kyle Monangai as training camp approaches, Mike Moraitis of SI.com reports. Swift offers more explosiveness and pass-catching ability than Monangai, though both backs are expected to play significant roles in coach Ben Johnson's offense behind Chicago's revamped offensive line. Across 16 regular-season appearances in 2025, Swift rushed 223 times for 1,087 yards and a career-high nine touchdowns while adding 34 catches for 299 yards and another score on 48 targets. The 27-year-old is heading into the final year of his contract with the Bears.

Swift rushed 19 times for 76 yards and was not targeted as a receiver in Sunday's 20-17 playoff loss to the Rams. Swift led Chicago in both rushing attempts and yardage Sunday, but his inability to score on multiple attempts from in close in the second half proved costly in the overtime loss. The 26-year-old was curiously absent in the passing game after registering a target in all 17 of his previous appearances (including playoffs) this season. Swift had a career year under first-year head coach Ben Johnson, finishing the regular season with personal bests in rushing yards (1,087) and touchdowns (nine). The veteran starter will enter the final year of a three-year contract with the Bears in 2026, forming a formidable backfield duo with RB Kyle Monangai.

Swift rushed 13 times for 54 yards and a touchdown and brought in both targets for 38 yards in the Bears' 31-27 wild-card win over the Packers on Saturday. The veteran running back put together a solid workmanlike effort that featured a long run of just eight yards but also consisted of several productive gains and a five-yard touchdown rush with just over 10 minutes remaining. Swift was also efficient on both of his catches, and he outpaced backfield mate Kyle Monangai on the ground by five carries and 27 yards. Swift should remain the leader of the ground attack in the Bears' next playoff challenge, which will come next weekend in the divisional round.

Swift rushed 10 times for 40 yards and brought in one of two targets for eight yards in the Bears' 19-16 loss to the Lions on Sunday. Swift saw his rushing opportunities capped due to game script, as the Bears entered the fourth quarter trailing 16-0. The veteran back was reasonably effective when he did touch the ball, and he outpaced backfield mate Kyle Monangai by four carries and 26 rushing yards. Swift finished his second season in Chicago with a career-high 1,087 rushing yards and nine rushing touchdowns at 4.8 yards per carry, complementing those figures with a 34-299-1 receiving line on 48 targets across 16 games. Swift is expected to continue working in a relatively close timeshare with Monangai during the upcoming postseason, beginning with next week's home matchup against the Packers in the wild-card round.

Swift had a standout game in Week 17 at San Francisco with 21.9 PPR points, and he has now scored at least 20.8 PPR points in three of his past five games. He had 13.9 PPR points in Week 2 at Detroit, and the Lions run defense has fallen apart of late. Six running backs in the past four games against Detroit have scored at least 13.1 PPR points, with eight total touchdowns over that span. Swift is worth using as a borderline No. 1 running back in all leagues, and Kyle Monangai should be considered a high-end flex. Monangai has scored at least 12.3 PPR points in two of his past five games.
