The Chiefs re-signed Ingram to the practice squad Thursday, Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com reports. Ingram was waived by Kansas City on Tuesday to make room for veteran running back Kareem Hunt on the 53-man roster. After having just played five snaps on special teams during the Chiefs' win over the Falcons in Week 3 despite Isiah Pacheco (fibula) being on injured reserve, Ingram will now resume handling an emergency depth role for the team.

The Chiefs waived Ingram on Tuesday. Ingram was signed to the roster ahead of Kansas City's Week 3 win over Atlanta to provide backfield depth after Isiah Pacheco (fibula) was placed on injured reserve. He ended up playing just five special-teams snaps against Atlanta, with Carson Steele and Samaje Perine taking on all of the snaps out of the backfield. Ingram was waived Tuesday to make room on the 53-man roster for Kareem Hunt, and the former will explore his next options should he clear waivers.

The Chiefs signed Ingram off their practice squad Wednesday. With Isiah Pacheco (fibula) landing on injured reserve Wednesday and set to miss at least six weeks, Ingram will bolster Kansas City's backfield depth ahead of Sunday's game against the Falcons. For now, Carson Steele and Samaje Perine are the other backs on the team's active roster, with Clyde Edwards-Helaire on the reserve/non-football illness and ineligible for activation until Week 5 and Kareem Hunt having just been signed to the practice squad. For now, Ingram will likely be behind Steele and Perine in the mix for work out of the backfield, and once Hunt is up to speed with the offense, he could be elevated and also move ahead of Ingram in the pecking order.

The Chiefs waived Ingram on Tuesday. Ingram made a deal with Kansas City after an underwhelming start to his NFL career with the Cardinals, but now the Chiefs have decided to move on too. He has good physical tools, but his production as a pro up to this point has been poor.

The Chiefs elevated Ingram from their practice squad ahead of Sunday's game against the Bengals. With both Isiah Pacheco (concussion/shoulder) and Clyde Edwards-Helaire (illness) listed as questionable for the contest, Ingram gives the Chiefs added Week 17 depth in a backfield that also includes La'Mical Perine. In eight games with the Cardinals prior to landing with Kansas City, Ingram logged 74 yards on 35 carries to go along with four catches for 26 yards.
