Demercado carried the ball once for one yard and caught two of three targets for zero yards in Sunday's 40-20 loss to the Texans. Bam Knight (ankle) left the game early and didn't return, but Demercado still didn't see a significant increase in his workload, as Michael Carter instead stepped into the No. 1 role. Demercado was returning from a three-game absence of his own due to an ankle injury, which may have contributed to his limited touches. If Knight remains sidelined in Week 16 against the Falcons, Demercado could be a little more involved.

Demercado (ankle) is listed as active Sunday at Houston. Demercado thus is in line for his first game action since he initially suffered a high-ankle sprain during Week 11 at San Francisco. He'll join healthy backfield mates Bam Knight and Michael Carter in Week 15. In the four games in which all three have received offensive snaps this season, Demercado has totaled 18 touches to Knight's 37 and Carter's 44, which would seem to indicate Demercado will be third in the pecking order for reps, especially given that he didn't log a full practice in advance of his return.

Demercado, who is officially questionable for Sunday's game against Houston due to an ankle injury, is expected to play, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Demercado hasn't been able to play in any of Arizona's past three games due to the ankle issue, but he logged a trio of limited practices this week to set up his return to action. He could take on a fairly significant role right away upon his return, though it's unclear how the Cardinals will split up the workload between Bam Knight, Michael Carter and Demercado. The outlook for the trio isn't particularly bright against a Texans defense that is tied for the fourth-fewest rushing yards allowed to RBs this season.

Demercado still hasn't logged a full practice since suffering a high-ankle sprain, but he's at least managed limited sessions for two weeks now, showing enough to be listed as 'questionable' after the past three weeks saw him ruled out Friday. Once he returns, Demercado figures to push Bam Knight and/or Michael Carter for playing time.

Demercado (ankle) was a limited practice participant Thursday, Bo Brack of GoPHNX.com reports. Demercado has been listed as limited on four of the Cardinals' last five injury reports as he continues his recovery from the high-ankle sprain that has sidelined him the last three games. In the end, Friday's practice report will reveal if Demercado has a chance to rejoin Arizona's backfield Sunday at Houston, but for the time being, Bam Knight and Michael Carter are in line to continue sharing the load this weekend.
