As his fifth season with Bills approaches, Shakir remains a key component of a WR corps that's been bolstered by offseason trade acquisition DJ Moore and rookie fourth-rounder Skyler Bell. Shakir is coming off a 2025 regular season in which he put together a 72-719-4 receiving line on a team-high 95 targets, marking the second year in a row he paced the Bills in that category. While Moore now projects as QB Josh Allen's top WR target, Shakir should still see enough volume out of the slot in 2026 to maintain a degree of fantasy PPR utility. Meanwhile, as Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic has previously noted, the other starting spot in 11 personnel (three receivers) is up for grabs as training camp approaches, with Joshua Palmer, Keon Coleman, Bell and Tyrell Shavers (knee) set to compete for slotting behind Moore and Shakir.

Shakir hauled in seven of nine targets for 75 yards in the Bills' 33-30 overtime divisional-round loss to the Broncos on Saturday. Shakir led the Bills in receptions and targets after having posted a 12-82-0 line in the wild-card win over the Jaguars. The veteran wideout also recorded a game-high 46-yard catch in an early fourth-quarter drive that culminated in a go-ahead 14-yard scoring strike to Dalton Kincaid. Shakir's highly productive postseason was preceded by a similarly busy regular season, one where he generated a 72-719-4 line on 95 targets, rushed once for five yards, lost his only fumble and recorded 124 punt-return yards across 16 games.

Shakir did not handle any snaps during Sunday's 35-8 win over the Jets. Shakir dressed for Week 18 but did not take the field as the Bills focused on keeping key players fresh for the playoffs. Across 16 regular-season appearances in 2025, Shakir secured 72 of 95 targets for 719 yards and four touchdowns, while also rushing once for five yards and compiling 124 yards as a punt returner. Shakir will resume operating as the No. 1 wideout for Buffalo beginning with Sunday's wild-card matchup against Jacksonville.

Shakir comes into Week 18 having scored 9.6 PPR points or less in four of his past five games, and he has one touchdown over that span. He also had one catch for 12 yards on two targets in Week 2 at the Jets. But the reason to sit Shakir in Week 18 is that Josh Allen might not play much with the Bills likely resting players for the playoffs. And even if Shakir remains in his usual role, I don't want to trust him with Mitch Trubisky at quarterback for the Bills. At best, Shakir is a low-end No. 3 Fantasy receiver in the majority of leagues.

Shakir finished with six receptions on seven targets for 35 yards in Sunday's 13-12 loss to the Eagles. Shakir led all Buffalo receivers in targets and receptions Sunday, but a lack of explosive plays resulted in the wideout finishing third on the team in yardage. Veteran teammate Brandin Cooks (4-101-0) surprisingly finished as the team's leading receiver while WR Keon Coleman remained a healthy scratch for the second straight game. Shakir has provided value in PPR formats with 72 receptions through 16 starts, but his 719 receiving yards and four touchdowns leave much to be desired as a starting option in standard fantasy leagues.
