• Jets' T'Vondre Sweat: Lands on NFI list

  The Jets placed Sweat (hamstring) on the active/non-football injury list Saturday, Ethan Greenberg of the team's official site reports. Sweat picked up an injury while away from the team; however it's not considered to be serious. The 25-year-old was traded to New York from the Titans earlier in the offseason and is expected to serve as one of the Jets' starting outside linebackers once healthy.

  The Titans agreed to terms Thursday on a trade that will send Sweat to the Jets in exchange for Jermaine Johnson, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. Sweat and Johnson are both ascending talents on the defensive line whose talents will better suit the schemes of their new teams, especially with New York having traded former defensive tackle Quinnen Williams to the Cowboys midway through the 2025 campaign. A 2024 second-round pick, Sweat was productive across his 12 regular-season appearances with Tennessee in his second pro campaign, recording 34 tackles (16 solo), including 2.0 sacks, plus one pass defensed. He also tallied 18 quarterback pressures. He will pair with Harrison Phillips to anchor New York's interior defensive line in 2026.

  Sweat recorded 34 tackles (16 solo), 2.0 sacks and one pass defensed across 12 games with the Titans in 2025. Sweat missed five of Tennessee's first six games, primarily due to an ankle injury. That led to a downturn in his overall statistical output, though he remained strong against the run and also tallied 18 quarterback pressures -- a much higher rate than his rookie campaign. Sweat will pair with Jeffery Simmons in 2026 as a formidable duo along the Titans' defensive line.

  Sweat tallied two solo tackles, including 1.0 sacks, in Tennessee's loss to the Colts on Sunday. Sweat has now recorded a sack in back-to-back games since returning from the ankle injury he suffered in the Week 1 loss versus the Broncos. The 24-year-old will look to build on this strong performance and keep producing in the Week 9 matchup versus the Chargers.

  Sweat registered six tackles (two solo), including 1.0 sacks, in Sunday's loss to the Patriots. Sweat made his return from injured reserve after missing five games due to an ankle injury. He looked healthy in the loss, logging a 57 percent snap share and finishing in a tie for third on the Titans with six stops. One of his tackles was a sack of Drake Maye in the fourth quarter that resulted in a loss of nine yards.
