  • Williams ran almost exclusively with the second- and third-team offenses at Monday's practice, Andrew Callahan of the Boston Herald reports. Callahan noted it appeared Williams was behind all of A.J. Brown, Romeo Doubs, Kayshon Boutte, Mack Hollins, DeMario Douglas and Efton Chism on the wideout depth chart Monday. Williams was a third-round pick last year, but New England has since added Brown and Doubs to the mix, leaving Williams in a fight for playing time. Williams' spot on the roster hasn't been brought into question at this point, but if he's this buried a month from now, it's fair to wonder if the Patriots would be willing to listen to offers for the 23-year-old after he produced just 10 catches for 209 yards and three touchdowns on 21 targets across 17 regular-season appearances as a rookie.

  • Once training camp commences, Williams is slated to compete for snaps behind A.J. Brown and Romeo Doubs in three-receiver sets, Evan Lazar of the Patriots' official site reports. While it's clear that Brown and Doubs are atop the Patriots' WR depth chart, Kayshon Boutte also figures to see his share of work provided he remains with the team, with Williams, Mack Hollins and DeMario Douglas also in the mix for complementary work in a crowded positional group. For now, Williams -- who caught 10 of 21 targets for 209 yards and three touchdowns in 17 regular-season contests in 2025 -- doesn't have a clear path to volume in New England's offense, but the 2025 third-rounder, who's been working to improve his playing strength this offseason, does have the speed to help out as a downfield threat in 2026 when snaps are available.

  • As his second season as a pro approaches, Williams noted Tuesday that he's been working to improve his playing strength, Mark Daniels of masslive.com reports. To that end, Williams -- who caught 10 of 21 targets for 209 yards and three touchdowns in 17 regular-season contests in 2025 -- said Tuesday that his weight has gone up to 193 pounds after playing at "185 soaking wet" as a rookie. As things stand, Williams is slated to compete for snaps in an already crowded New England WR corps that also includes Romeo Doubs, Kayshon Boutte, Mack Hollins and DeMario Douglas, but there's been plenty of speculation that the team could trade for Philadelphia's A.J. Brown on or after June 1. If that happens, Williams -- who the Patriots took in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft -- may face a challenging path to steady playing time/targets in 2026.

  • Williams caught his only target for seven yards in Sunday's 16-3 wild-card win over the Chargers. Per Mike Reiss of ESPN.com, the 2025 third-rounder was tied for the third-highest workload with DeMario Douglas (21 of 64 snaps) in a New England WR corps led by Stefon Diggs and Kayshon Boutte. As the Patriots' divisional-round game against either the Texans or Steelers approaches, Williams remains a speculative fantasy option due to his lack of consistent volume in his team's passing offense.

  • Patriots' Kyle Williams: Week 18 Waiver Priority List
    By Jamey Eisenberg

We'll see if Kayshon Boutte (concussion) will play in Week 18 against Miami, but if he's out again then Williams is worth a look in deeper leagues as a No. 3 Fantasy receiver. Boutte was out in Week 17 at the Jets, and Williams tied for second on the team in targets with five in a game where the Patriots only attempted 25 passes. Williams only had three catches for 20 yards in Week 17, but he is a big-play threat in a favorable matchup. The Dolphins have allowed five receivers to score at least 12.1 PPR points in their past two games.
