  • Dolphins head coach Jeff Hafley said Wednesday that Achane (shoulder) has been limited to individual drills at mandatory minicamp, Chris Perkins of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports. Hafley said Achane will continue handling individual drills Thursday, the final date of Miami's three-day minicamp. The star running back, who signed a four-year, $68 million in May, is recovering from a clean-up procedure to address a shoulder injury that forced him to miss Week 18 of the 2025 season, but there's not yet any reason to believe the issue will impact his activity level for the start of training camp in July. Until such time as Achane is fully cleared, however, Jaylen Wright and Ollie Gordon will be the favorites to handle first-team reps in 7-on-7 and 11-on-11 drills.

  • Dolphins head coach Jeff Hafley said Wednesday that Achane (shoulder) is recovering from a clean-up procedure and will not be a full participant at OTAs, C. Isaiah Smalls II of the Miami Herald reports. Achane missed the final game of the 2025 season due to a shoulder injury, but he still finished with a career-high 1,350 rushing yards and eight touchdowns across 16 regular-season appearances while averaging a league-best 5.8 yards per carry on 238 attempts. There have been no indications that the shoulder procedure he's rehabbing is anything beyond routine offseason maintenance, a notion reinforced by the four-year, $68 million extension Miami signed him to earlier in May. Achane's next opportunity to return to the field following OTAs will come during mandatory minicamp June 2-4, though the Dolphins could choose to remain cautious and hold him out until training camp in July. He projects as a top-12 fantasy selection not only due to his standing as the centerpiece of Miami's rushing attack alongside dual-threat quarterback Malik Willis, but also because of his pass-catching upside. Achane has compiled more catches (145) and receiving yards (1,080) over the past two seasons than any other player currently on the Dolphins' roster.

  • Achane was spotted at the Dolphins' training facility Thursday for the first time since the start of the team's voluntary offseason program, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Entering the final year of his rookie contract, Achane is in the midst of negotiations toward a long-term extension. The Dolphins have shut down trade rumors, and it sounds like Achane is on board for their rebuilding project as long as he's happy with his compensation. Given his age (24) and monstrous production, Achane probably hopes to top Saquon Barkley's RB-leading totals for average annual value ($20.6 million) and fully guaranteed money ($36 million). For now, Achane will focus on learning a new playbook under new head coach Jeff Hafley and offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik. On-field work doesn't start until mid-to-late May, with mandatory minicamp then scheduled for June 2-4.

  • Achane is not attending the beginning of Miami's voluntary workouts Tuesday, C. Isaiah Smalls of the Miami Herald reports. Achane is absent from voluntary workouts due to his pursuit of a contract extension. The star running back is currently entering the final year of his rookie deal, and new head coach Jeff Hafley said "I'm not going to dive into those talks right now" when asked Tuesday about the status of a long-term deal for Achane. Earlier this offseason, new GM Jon-Eric Sullivan referred to the running back as "a building block" on offense and stated that the team will make "zero effort" to trade him, despite the fact that Jaylen Waddle was spoken about in similar terms and then dealt to Denver for a package including a 2026 first-round pick. Meanwhile, new quarterback Malik Willis is present for the start of voluntary workouts and is building familiarity with Miami's scheme and personnel.

  • Miami has informed teams that have inquired about potentially trading for Achane that the running back is not available, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN reports. Achane's availability has reportedly been a source of intrigue around the league after the Dolphins traded Jaylen Waddle to the Broncos on Tuesday in exchange for a package including Denver's first-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, but it appears Miami views the 24-year-old running back as an offensive centerpiece to build around for new quarterback Malik Willis. New general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan called Achane "a marvelous player" at the NFL Scouting Combine in February and said the team will consider extending him this offseason, as he's entering the final year of his rookie deal. He compiled a career-high 1,838 yards from scrimmage across 16 regular-season appearances in 2025 and scored 12 total touchdowns while handling 305 touches (ninth in the league) despite an undersized frame. Achane has proven himself to be one of the most versatile and efficient running backs in the NFL, so despite the Dolphins' current stance, it won't be surprising if teams around the league continue to call about his potential availability.
