  • Brett Maher K | LAR

Cowboys' Brett Maher: Drills Week 2 game-winner

Maher connected on both his extra-point attempts and both his field-goal attempts Sunday, including a 50-yarder as time expired in a 20-17 win over the Bengals.

The 32-year-old was good from 54 yards out just before halftime, giving him a dress rehearsal for his game-winning kick at the end of the fourth quarter. Maher is off to a solid start to the season in his third stint with the Cowboys and has yet to miss a kick through two games, although his volume could remain volatile with backup QB Cooper Rush under center and the team dealing with an all-around underperforming offense.

  • Jason Myers K | SEA

Seahawks' Jason Myers: Hits lone extra point

Myers made his lone extra-point try in Sunday's 27-7 loss to the 49ers.

The Seahawks' offense generated 216 total yards, so it's not surprising that Myers had little impact Sunday. He should have more of an impact in Week 3 against the Falcons. He's still not dependable for fantasy purposes.

  • Texans' Ka'imi Fairbairn: Nails three field goals

Fairbairn made three of three field-goal attempts and was not required to kick an extra point in Sunday's 16-9 loss to the Broncos in Week 2.

Fairbairn made kicks of 44, 40 and 24 yards and has been successful on all five FG attempts in 2022. The Texans have just two red-zone appearances over the first two weeks, which suggests it could be a busy season for Fairbairn. He has 17 points through two weeks, ranking seventh among placekickers.

  • Cade York K | NO

Browns' Cade York: Registers first blemish

York made his lone field-goal attempt and three of four extra-point kicks in Sunday's 31-30 loss to the Jets in Week 2.

While the margin of defeat comes down to the missed extra-point attempt, the Browns' loss was a team-wide breakdown in all phases of the game. York's missed kick left the Browns with a 30-17 lead with 1:55 left, and New York had no timeouts left. The Jets needed a defensive breakdown and the special teams' inability to recover an onside kick. That all happened after coaches failed to instruct the offense to not score if the opportunity presented itself. Instead, Nick Chubb did not kneel down before the end zone and scored a touchdown. Had he taken a knee, the Browns could have run out the clock with a 24-17 win. The missed kick was York's first in the regular season, but the rookie has been very good since he arrived in camp, including the winning 58-yard boot in Week 1.

  • Cairo Santos K | CHI

Bears' Cairo Santos: Tallies four points

Santos made his only field-goal attempt in the Bears' 27-10 loss to the Packers on Sunday.

Santos has five points through two games, and with the Bears potentially having a low-volume offense this season, the kicker may also have limited scoring potential.

  • Matt Gay K | SF

Rams' Matt Gay: Perfect against Falcons

Gay connected on his only field-goal attempt and made all four of his extra-point tries during Sunday's 31-27 win over the Falcons.

Gay was busy early, as the Rams scored a touchdown on four of their first five drives. After that, he saw the field just once more, booting a chip shot 20-yard field goal in the fourth quarter. The Rams offense, which struggled heavily in the season opener against the Bills, rebounded well against the Falcons, and Gay will look to continue to contribute in a Week 3 matchup against the Cardinals.

  • Colts' Chase McLaughlin: Moves up to active roster

McLaughlin was elevated from the practice squad Saturday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

The Colts waived Rodrigo Blankenship on Tuesday, opening the door for one of McLaughlin or Lucas Havrisik to earn the kicking job. The veteran McLaughlin will now have officially joined his seventh NFL team since entering the NFL back in 2019.

  • Brett Maher K | LAR

Cowboys' Brett Maher: Officially with active roster

Maher signed a contract with the Cowboys on Saturday, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.

The Cowboys opted to forgo his two weeks of practice-squad callup eligibility and instead signed the kicker to the active 53-man roster. The 32-year-old made his lone kick in a Week 1 shellacking at the hands of the Buccaneers.

  • Chargers' Dustin Hopkins: Perfect in loss

Hopkins converted his only field-goal attempt and also knocked home all three of his extra-point tries in Thursday's 27-24 loss to the Chiefs.

Hopkins drilled a 31-yarder on his only attempt in the contest. The usually aggressive Chargers offense was surprisingly reserved throughout large portions of the game, which might have limited Hopkins' fantasy upside. Expect the kicker to have plenty of opportunities in what figures to be a solid matchup against the Jaguars in Week 3.

  • Chiefs' Harrison Butker: Won't play Thursday

Butker (ankle) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Chargers.

Butker sprained the ankle on his non-kicking leg during Kansas City's season-opening win over the Cardinals this past Sunday. In his absence Week 2, the Chiefs are expected to use former Jet Matt Ammendola as their kicker, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. While he lacks Butker's experience or reliability, Ammendola benefits from being attached to one of the top offenses in football, making him a viable Week 2 fantasy option.
