  • Aaron Rodgers QB | PIT

Packers' Aaron Rodgers: Down top target after Adams trade

Rodgers lost top target Davante Adams on Thursday when the Packers agreed to trade the wide receiver to the Raiders, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

After one domino fell in Green Bay last week when Rodgers agreed to return for an 18th season, the team proceeded to place the franchise tag on Adams. The wide receiver informed the Packers that he wouldn't play under the tag, and even as Rodgers negotiated and signed a four-year extension he was made aware that his employers were exploring trades for Adams, per Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com. With Adams out the door, the team now is in the market for additions to the receiving corps with just Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb the known entities at the position.

  • Derek Carr QB | NO

Raiders' Derek Carr: New target in Adams

Carr gained a new target Thursday when the Raiders agreed to trade for Davante Adams of the Packers, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Carr and Adams have familiarity from the 2012 and 2013 seasons at Fresno State, when the latter racked up a whopping 233 catches, 3,031 yards and 38 touchdowns. After eight years apart in which Adams has developed into one of the NFL's top wide receivers, Carr will have the long-coveted No. 1 WR as a member of the Raiders. Following this transaction, Carr currently has WRs Adams, Hunter Renfrow and Bryan Edwards, TEs Darren Waller and Foster Moreau and RBs Josh Jacobs, Kenyan Drake (ankle) and Brandon Bolden at his disposal for the 2022 campaign.

  • Browns' Baker Mayfield: Requests trade from Browns

Mayfield (shoulder) has reportedly requested a trade from the Browns, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network and Adam Schefter of ESPN report.

This comes on the heels of the Browns looking into a possible trade for fellow quarterback Deshaun Watson. While Cleveland in no longer in the mix on that front, it appears as though Mayfield is looking for a fresh start elsewhere. However, shortly after reports of his desire to be moved surfaced, Jake Trotter of ESPN.com relayed that the Browns do not wish to accommodate Mayfield's request. The signal caller underwent surgery to repair a torn labrum in his non-throwing shoulder Jan. 19 and is expected to be fully cleared well in advance of training camp.

  • Brandon Allen QB | NYG

Bengals' Brandon Allen: Re-ups with Cincinnati

The Bengals re-signed Allen to a one-year contract Thursday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Allen will return for a third straight season as the top backup to Joe Burrow (knee). The 29-year-old was reportedly Cincinnati's top choice for the No. 2 spot during the 2022 season, likely due to his familiarity with coach Zac Taylor's system.

  • David Blough QB | DET

Lions' David Blough: Staying with Lions

Blough agreed to re-sign with the Lions on Thursday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.

Blough served mainly as Detroit's No. 3 quarterback in 2021 and played just four offensive snaps during his third season with the Lions. He should continue to serve behind starter Jared Goff and primary backup Tim Boyle heading into the 2022 campaign

  • Browns' Baker Mayfield: Likely stays starter with no Watson

The Browns are out of the running to trade for Deshaun Watson and now view Mayfield (shoulder) as their starting quarterback moving forward, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.

It might be an awkward relationship with everyone well aware the Browns pursued an upgrade in the offseason. That said, the team reportedly told Mayfield's agent they would only look into top-notch QBs, suggesting they'll now move forward with Mayfield rather than trading him away and bringing in a different mid/low-level starter. The soon-to-be 27-year-old QB is scheduled to play out 2022 under the fifth-year option on his rookie contract, assuming he and the Browns are able to move forward together. The team may view the upcoming NFL Draft as another avenue to find a potential franchise QB. In the meantime, Mayfield will continue rehabbing from January shoulder surgery.

  • Kyle Allen QB | BUF

Texans' Kyle Allen: Set to sign with Texans

Allen agreed Wednesday with the Texans on a one-year deal, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.

According to Jhabvala, Allen's deal is for $2.5 million and includes $2.25 million fully guaranteed. The 26-year-old -- who spent the last two seasons with Washington -- will provide Houston with added quarterback depth behind Davis Mills, the team's projected starter for 2022 with Deshaun Watson expected to be traded this offseason.

  • Russell Wilson QB | NYG

Broncos' Russell Wilson: Trade to Denver official

The Broncos acquired Wilson from the Seahawks on Wednesday, after the trade the two teams agreed upon last week became official.

In one of the landmark transactions of the offseason, Denver finally landed its first big-name quarterback since Peyton Manning retired after winning Super Bowl 50. Wilson will have a bevy of pass catchers at his disposal, moat notably wide receivers Jerry Jeudy, Courtland Sutton and Tim Patrick, tight end Albert Okwuegbunam and running back Javonte Williams. Wilson is coming off a subpar season by his standards, as he missed the first games (three) of his career due to injury and the playoffs for just the second time in 10 pro campaigns. Still, he completed 64.8 percent of his passes, averaged 7.8 yards per attempt and had 25 touchdowns versus six interceptions in 14 appearances.

  • Mike White QB | CAR

Jets' Mike White: Tendered by Jets

The Jets tendered White at his original-round level Wednesday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.

With the move, White is set to make $2.54 million in 2022, unless another team offers him more. In that scenario, New York would have the ability to match any offer, but if they decline, they'd receive a fifth-round pick in return. The Jets also re-signed Joe Flacco to a one-year, $3.5 million deal Wednesday, so they'll have multiple options behind second-year starter Zach Wilson. In 2021, White made four appearances (three starts) and completed 88 of 132 passes for 953 yards, five touchdowns and eight interceptions. However, the majority of his positive production (405 yards and three touchdowns) came in a Week 8 upset win over the Bengals.

  • Tyrod Taylor QB | GB

Giants' Tyrod Taylor: Inks deal with Big Blue

The Giants and Taylor agreed to terms of a two-year contract Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Taylor was a member of the Bills when new Giants GM Joe Schoen joined Buffalo's front office in 2017. At 32 years old, Taylor brings a wealth of experience to New York's quarterback room, having started 53 games for four different organizations. In his most recent stint with the Texans last season, the 2011 sixth-round pick completed 91 of 150 passes for 966 yards, five touchdowns and five interceptions while rushing 19 times for 151 yards and three more scores in six starts. With the Giants, Taylor will serve as the direct backup to three-year pro Daniel Jones (neck), whose injury history may allow the former to get on the field again in 2022.
