  • Alex McGough QB | GB

    Alex McGough: Sticks in Houston

McGough signed with the Texans' practice squad Saturday.

McGough was waived by the Texans this week but will remain with the organization after clearing waivers. The 2018 seventh-round pick will continue to work as the team's No. 3 quarterback behind Deshaun Watson and A.J. McCarron.

  • Aaron Rodgers QB | PIT

Packers' Aaron Rodgers: Cleared to play, minus top WRs

Rodgers (knee) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Raiders, but Davante Adams (toe) has been ruled out and Geronimo Allison (concussion/chest) is listed as doubtful, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.

As if that weren't bad enough, Marquez Valdes-Scantling (knee/ankle) is listed as questionable, heading toward a game-time decision. The Packers at least managed to get Jimmy Graham (ankle) off the injury report, giving Rodgers one of his regular pass catchers for Sunday's matchup with the Raiders.

  • Drew Lock QB | SEA

Broncos' Drew Lock: Set to practice next week

Lock (thumb) is expected to begin practicing next week, Jeff Legwold of ESPN.com reports.

Lock has been on injured reserve since the start of the regular season after suffering a severe thumb sprain on his throwing hand in the preseason, but he's closing in on a potential return. The rookie second-round pick can be officially activated as early as Week 9, but there should be a better idea of a potential return date once he actual retakes the practice field. According to Troy Renck of Denver 7 News, Theo Riddick (shoulder), Jake Butt (knee), and Tim Patrick (hand) are all on IR and will also resume practicing next week, but the team will only be able to bring back two of the players.

  • Mitch Trubisky QB | TEN

Bears' Mitchell Trubisky: Officially listed as questionable

Trubisky (shoulder) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against New Orleans, despite practicing in full throughout the week.

Coming out of a bye week and with no limitations in practice, Trubisky should be ready to return from the injury to his non-throwing shoulder. With Taylor Gabriel (concussion) cleared to play, the Bears will have their full complement of weapons on offense.

  • Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes: Will get second opinion on injury

Mahomes (kneecap) could be sidelined for 3-to-4 weeks, but the Chiefs will seek a second opinion on the injury before establishing a formal timeline for the quarterback's return, a source tells Sam Mellinger of The Kansas City Star.

In the wake of Mahomes' initial MRI revealing that he suffered a dislocated right kneecap in Thursday's win over the Broncos, varying reports have surfaced regarding a projected recovery timetable. While Adam Schefter of ESPN and Ian Rapoport of NFL Network relayed that the reigning MVP would be out for as few as three games, the Associated Press suggested Mahomes could be out for 4-to-6 weeks. Mellinger's report puts Mahomes' timeline somewhere between the two extremes, leaving the possibility open that the signal-caller may be ready to go as soon as Nov. 18 against the Chargers in Mexico City. The Chiefs are unlikely to offer more clarity on Mahomes' situation until the results of the second opinion are made available.

  • Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes: Team still gathering info on injury

Coach Andy Reid relayed Friday that the Chiefs are still gathering information pertaining to Mahomes' dislocated right kneecap, BJ Kissel of the team's official site reports.

The Chiefs haven't revealed an official for Mahomes' return to action, but Adam Schefter of ESPN and Ian Rapoport of NFL Network both report that a three-week absence is likely a best-case scenario for the quarterback's return to action. For now, Matt Moore is the Chiefs' top healthy signal-caller, though Reid mentioned the possibility of Kyle Shurmur receiving a promotion from the practice squad. Meanwhile, veteran Chad Henne (ankle) isn't eligible to return from injured reserve until after Week 8.

  • Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes: MRI confirms dislocated kneecap

The MRI that Mahomes underwent confirmed that he suffered a dislocated right kneecap in Thursday's 30-6 win over the Broncos, though he avoided "significant additional damage," Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Per the report, the star quarterback will seek added opinions to be sure, but the plan is for Mahomes "to return this season after a brief absence." The team should pass down an estimated timeline for Mahomes' return in the near future, but it looks like the Chiefs will need to rely on Matt Moore for at least the next few weeks while the reigning MVP is on the mend.

  • Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes: Expected to miss time

Mahomes, who suffered a right patellar dislocation in Thursday's 30-6 win over the Broncos, is looking at a recovery timeline of approximately three weeks in a best-case scenario, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

A precise timeline for the star quarterback's return to action will be speculative until the results of his MRI are available, with the length of his likely absence largely hinging on whether or not he suffered any ligament damage. In any case, it looks as though veteran signal-caller Matt Moore will be leading the Chiefs offense for a spell, beginning with the team's Oct. 27 tilt against the Packers.

  • Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes: Suffers dislocated kneecap

Mahomes sustained a dislocated right kneecap during Thursday's game against the Broncos, James Palmer of NFL Network reports.

Mahomes appears to have avoided a fracture as he already received X-rays, and he's now expected to undergo an MRI on Friday to further determine the extent of the injury, per Herbie Teope of The Kansas City Star. The reigning NFL MVP suffered the injury on a QB sneak during the second quarter and was quickly ruled out from returning to the contest. Matt Moore is leading the offense in his absence and is currently the only healthy quarterback on the Chiefs' roster.

  • Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes: Out with knee injury

Mahomes won't return to Thursday's game against the Broncos due to a right knee injury.

Mahomes exited during the second quarter after suffering the injury on a QB sneak. A cart was initially called onto the field, but the 24-year-old gingerly made his way to the locker room under his own power. According to Erin Andrews of FOX, Mahomes was only briefly in the the X-ray room before being officially ruled out. Matt Moore steps in at quarterback in what is a disastrous sequence of events for the Chiefs.
