  • Derek Carr QB | NO

Raiders' Derek Carr: Clear of injury

Carr is not listed on Wednesday's injury report.

Carr underwent precautionary X-rays after Sunday's win over the Colts, but the starting signal-caller hasn't appeared to suffer any sort of injury. All signs point to Carr suiting up unhindered Week 5 against the Bears in London.

  • Sam Darnold QB | SEA

Jets' Sam Darnold: Logs limited practice

Darnold (illness) was officially listed as a limited practice participant Wednesday.

Per Randy Lange of the team's official site, Darnold's effort during Wednesday's non-contact context caught the eye of both Jamison Crowder and Robby Anderson, a pair of the QB's key targets. "I thought he looked pretty good," Crowder noted, with Anderson adding "he looks like he's good. He's confident." While Wednesday's practice is a good start, ESPN's Rich Cimini relays that Darnold still isn't considered a lock to play Sunday against the Eagles, with a determination on that front not likely to arrive until later in the week.

  • Colt McCoy QB | ARI

Redskins' Colt McCoy: Sharing reps with Haskins

McCoy and Dwayne Haskins split the QB reps at Wednesday's practice with Case Keenum (foot) in a walking boot, Rhiannon Walker of The Athletic reports.

Despite reaching the end of his recovery from a fibula injury, McCoy was a healthy scratch Week 4. Coach Jay Gruden noted the amount of time McCoy missed, but he may reconsider due to Keenum's lingering injury and Haskins' ineffectiveness in his first NFL action. It appears all three signal-callers have a chance to start Sunday against the Patriots.

  • Matt Barkley QB | JAC

Bills' Matt Barkley: Could be Week 5 starter

With Josh Allen still working his way back from a concussion, Barkley took first-team reps during practice Wednesday, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.

Allen still has a decent chance to pass through all stages of the protocol and return for the Week 5 contest in Tennessee, though with that being no sure thing either, the Bills will be forced to prepare for the Titans with both quarterbacks. If the team decides to play it extra safe with Allen no matter what the doctors say, it could use the Week 6 bye to have him fully fresh for the next stretch of the season. That said, it seems like a slight stretch to think the Bills would put their franchise signal-caller on the bench if he were cleared to play. The situation will offer more clues as the practice week progresses.

  • Case Keenum QB | CHI

Redskins' Case Keenum: Wearing boot yet again

Keenum was spotted in a walking boot at Wednesday's practice, Rhiannon Walker of The Athletic reports.

Coach Jay Gruden chalked up his decision to pull Keenum from Sunday's debacle against the Giants due to the foot injury. With Keenum's right foot encased in a boot to kick off Week 5 prep, Gruden seemingly was telling the truth. In any case, Keenum was in a similar situation last week, wearing a boot before ditching it Thursday and getting a "full" listing on the Redskins' final two injury reports. Gruden has yet to commit to a starting quarterback for Sunday's game versus the Patriots, but Colt McCoy and rookie Dwayne Haskins split the reps Wednesday, per Walker.

  • Mitch Trubisky QB | TEN

Bears' Mitchell Trubisky: Targeting return after bye week

Trubisky (shoulder) is expected to miss Sunday's game against the Raiders but could return to action after Chicago's Week 6 bye, Rich Campbell of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Trubisky is dealing with a dislocation and slight labrum tear in his (left) non-throwing shoulder, but he'll be able to avoid surgery for both injuries. As such, Trubisky won't be in line for an extended absence, though the Bears appear set to roll with Chase Daniel under center Sunday in London. Coach Matt Nagy said Wednesday that Trubisky will be considered day-to-day after the bye week, setting the stage for a possible Week 7 return against the Saints if his recovery proceeds as anticipated.

  • Luke Falk QB | NYJ

Jets' Luke Falk: Taking practice reps

Falk and Sam Darnold (illness) will both receive practice reps Wednesday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.

Darnold is returning to practice as a limited participant, with the Jets monitoring his ability to handle increased cardio work following a three-week layoff. It sounds like Darnold is no better than a 50-50 proposition for Sunday's game in Philadelphia, so Falk has a decent chance to make his second start.

  • Jaguars' Gardner Minshew: Limited by knee injury

Minshew (knee) will be a limited practice participant Wednesday, John Reid of The Florida Times-Union reports.

Minshew was visibly hobbled while playing through a minor knee injury on the final drive of Sunday's 26-24 win over Denver. The injury doesn't seem like a major threat to his Week 5 availability, but he's at least worth keeping an eye on if he can't return to full practice participation Thursday or Friday. The Jaguars have a road game against the Panthers coming Sunday.

  • Josh Allen QB | BUF

Bills' Josh Allen: Ready for individual drills

Allen (concussion) will be limited to individual drills during Wednesday's practice, Matthew Fairburn of The Athletic reports.

The clearance for any form of activity suggests Allen has at least made some initial progress through the NFL's five-step concussion protocol. He'll still have a few more hurdles to clear in order to suit up for Sunday's game in Tennessee.

  • Sam Darnold QB | SEA

Jets' Sam Darnold: Cleared for limited practice

Darnold (illness) will return to practice Wednesday and increase his cardio activity, Connor Hughes of The Athletic reports.

Although he hasn't been cleared for contact, Darnold is taking a major step forward as he works his way back from mononucleosis, an illness that often causes fatigue even after other symptoms have diminished. Per Hughes coach Adam Gase said the Jets could wait until early Sunday to make a final decision on Darnold's availability for their 1 p.m. EDT game in Philadelphia. The quarterback presumably will be listed as a limited participant on Wednesday's injury report.
