Teddy Bridgewater QB | DET
Saints' Teddy Bridgewater: Slated to fill in for Brees
Bridgewater is in line to fill in as the Saints' starting QB with Drew Brees expected to undergo thumb surgery and miss approximately six weeks, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Bridgewater -- a 2014 first-rounder -- has starting experience from his days with the Vikings prior to suffering a brutal knee injury in August of 2016 that stalled his career. Now further removed from that issue, Bridgewater should be a capable fill-in for Brees in the coming weeks and definitely is worth an add for those looking to secure QB depth or simply scrambling to replace an injured player like Brees or Ben Roethlisberger (elbow).

Case Keenum QB | CHI
Redskins' Case Keenum: Throws two TD passes
Keenum completed 26 of 37 pass attempts for 221 yards and two touchdowns during Sunday's 31-21 loss to the Cowboys.
In a somewhat daunting matchup, Keenum completed an impressive 70 percent of his passes, although he averaged an underwhelming 6.0 yards per attempt. He completed touchdown passes to Paul Richardson and Terry McLaurin, giving him five scored compared to zero interceptions through his first two games as a Redskin. Keenum has performed admirably despite facing two strong defenses and will look to do more of the same next Monday against the Bears.

Gardner Minshew QB | ARI
Jaguars' Gardner Minshew: Admirable showing in Week 2 loss
Minshew completed 23 of 33 pass attempts for 213 yards and one touchdown, while adding 56 rushing yards on six carries during Sunday's 13-12 loss to Houston. He also fumbled three times, losing one.
Minshew got the ball in his hands with under 12 minutes to play in the fourth quarter, down 10 points to the reigning AFC South champions. The rookie sixth-round draft choice was unfazed, leading back-to-back scoring drives and getting Jacksonville to within an extra point of tying the game, but coach Doug Marrone elected to go for two -- a decision that proved fateful as the Leonard Fournette plunge was unsuccessful. Despite the 0-2 start for his team, Minshew has flashed in this thus-far two-game audition, establishing an absurd 77.6 percent completion rate with three touchdowns to two turnovers, as well as 62 rushing yards on seven attempts. In Week 3 he will face a Tennessee defense that gave up three touchdown passes to Colts quarterback Jacoby Brissett in its last time out.
-
Kirk Cousins QB | LV
Vikings' Kirk Cousins: Commits three turnovers
Cousins completed 14 of 32 pass attempts for 230 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions Sunday against the Packers. He also gained 17 yards on two carries and lost a fumble in the 21-16 loss.
Cousins struggled mightily in this one as he completed just 43.8 percent of his passes while averaging a pedestrian 7.2 yards per attempt. He lost a fumble on the second drive of the game and hurt his team's chance to come back with interceptions toward the end of either half. While he more than doubled his yardage output from Week 1, Cousins' inefficiency and carelessness with the football were a worrisome sight for fantasy owners. He will face a much more favorable matchup next Sunday at home against the Raiders.

Jacoby Brissett QB | ARI
Colts' Jacoby Brissett: Three TD passes in Week 2 win
Brissett completed 17 of 28 pass attempts for 146 yards, and tossed three touchdowns to one interception during Sunday's 19-17 win against the Titans. He also contributed 25 rushing yards on seven carries, and lost one fumble while absorbing a sack.
Brissett may have been held to fewer than 200 passing yards for the second straight game to kick off 2019, but he boasts a strong 5:1 TD:INT ratio, and led the Colts to points at every crucial juncture Sunday in a key interdivisional win against Tennessee. He isn't known for his rushing abilities, with a career average of fewer than 15 yards per game on the ground coming in, but picked up a key first down with his legs on an eventual scoring drive, and registered one red zone carry against the Titans. He'll now shift focus to a Week 3 matchup against an Atlanta defense that only faced 10 passes from the Vikings in the season opener, but allowed an ultra-efficient 80 percent completion rate, 9.8 yards per attempt and one touchdown on those attempts.
-
Derek Carr QB | NO
Raiders' Derek Carr: Struggles against Chiefs
Carr completed 23 of 38 passes for 198 yards and a touchdown while getting picked off twice in Sunday's 28-10 loss to the Chiefs.
He also ran the ball twice for 18 yards. The performance was a far cry from Carr's efficient numbers against Denver in the opener and represented a reversal of expectations given the reputations of the respective secondaries he was facing. Carr will face a tough test in Week 3 when the Raiders head to Minnesota.
-
Jared Goff QB | DET
Rams' Jared Goff: Solid multi-touchdown effort in win
Goff completed 19 of 28 passes for 283 yards with a touchdown and no interceptions in the Rams' 27-9 win over the Saints on Sunday. He also netted minus-2 yards on four carries and lost a fumble, but he also scored a rushing touchdown.
Goff still wasn't hitting on all cylinders in the 2018 sense, but his overall production represented a nice boost from his lackluster Week 1, sub-200-yard effort. The highlight of the quarterback's afternoon was a spectacular, fourth-quarter 66-yard connection with Cooper Kupp, who broke multiple tackles on the play to get the ball inside the one-yard line. Goff also had a 57-yard completion to Brandin Cooks, particularly encouraging considering the speedster was held to 39 yards by the Panthers in Week 1. Goff will now look to eclipse the 300-yard mark for the first time this season against the Browns in a Week 3 road matchup.
-
Marcus Mariota QB | WAS
Titans' Marcus Mariota: Modest production in loss
Mariota completed 19 of 28 passes for 154 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 19-17 loss to the Colts. He added 32 yards on five carries.
Who doesn't love a fat-guy touchdown? Mariota provided one to open the second quarter Sunday, finding offensive lineman David Quessenberry in the back of the end zone for a one-yard score. The good times slowed after that as Mariota ended the game with a measly 5.5 yards per attempt after an opener versus the Browns in which he made some big plays downfield. A Thursday-night showdown with the Jaguars should help determine which Mariota -- the Week 1 or Week 2 variety -- fans can expect moving forward.
-
Patrick Mahomes QB | KC
Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes: Tops 400 yards in win
Mahomes completed 30 of 44 passes for 443 yards and four touchdowns in Sunday's 28-10 win over the Raiders.
No Tyreek Hill (collarbone), no problem for Mahomes, who fired all of his TD strikes in a huge second quarter, hitting Demarcus Robinson on trips to the end zone twice and Travis Kelce and rookie Mecole Hardman once each during the barrage. All four scores went for 27 yards or longer, but the Kansas City offense was uncharacteristically quiet the rest of the game. Mahomes will need to stay sharp in Week 3 when the Chiefs host Lamar Jackson and the Ravens.

Teddy Bridgewater QB | DET
Saints' Teddy Bridgewater: Serviceable in emergency duty
Bridgewater completed 17 of 30 passes for 165 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions in the Saints' 27-9 loss to the Rams on Sunday. He also rushed twice for five yards and had a fumble, but it was recovered by the offense.
Drew Brees logged only five attempts before exiting the game with a hand injury caused by a collision with the helmet of Aaron Donald on what would be his final throw of the afternoon. That brought on Bridgewater for only his second taste of meaningful regular-season action since January 2016. The 26-year-old was understandably a bit rusty under the duress of an aggressive Rams defense that attempted to capitalize on his presence in the contest, but he managed to remain free of turnovers since the Saints recovered his one fumble. Bridgewater did show decent chemistry with lead receiver Michael Thomas, although he definitely has plenty of work to do in terms of rapport with the rest of his pass-catching corps. If Brees is unable to suit up for a Week 3 road battle against the Seahawks, Bridgewater is likely to get the starting nod, although jack-of-all-trades Taysom Hill has at least a slight chance of being considered for the opportunity.
