Trubisky won't play in Saturday's preseason matchup with the Chiefs, Adam Hoge of WGN Radio 720 AM Chicago reports.

Trubisky is being rested, along with many of the Bears' starters, for Saturday's game. The team effectively has five preseason games since they played in the Hall of Fame Game, and head coach Matt Nagy is pleased enough with how the team has looked in practice that he won't risk injury to many key players. Look for Chase Daniel to draw the start in place of Trubisky.

Rodgers isn't expected to take the field Friday in Oakland, Jason Wilde of ESPN.com reports.

Rodgers doesn't need the reps after playing one possession in preseason Week 2 against the Steelers. During said contest, he hooked up with Davante Adams for a 27-yard gain before finding Jimmy Graham in the end zone for an eight-yard score. It was as good of a sign as any that Rodgers is up to speed with his likely top two targets in advance of the regular season.

Sudfeld completed 11 of 21 passing attempts for 72 yards in Thursday's preseason loss to Cleveland.

While it was a step back from his performance the week prior against New England, the 24-year-old was better than Nick Foles in this one. Of course, one game won't change the depth chart, but the fact that Foles was dealing with a shoulder injury coming into the game could mean more security for Sudfeld. Fortunately for the Eagles, it sounds like Carson Wentz is making good progress and looked good in a workout held before the game.

Taylor (wrist, finger) isn't expected to miss any practice time, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.

Though his injury initially looked serious, Taylor seems to have escaped Thursday's preseason game with nothing more than a sore wrist and a dislocated pinky finger on his non-throwing hand. Coach Hue Jackson expects his starting quarterback to participate when the team resumes practicing this weekend. No. 1 overall pick Baker Mayfield will need to wait at least a little bit longer for his shot at the starting job.

Darnold likely will play the entire first half in Friday's preseason game against the Giants, Josina Anderson of ESPN reports.

The Jets haven't actually announced their starter, but Darnold's work with the first-team offense throughout the week provides a strong hint. The rookie could even play into the third quarter before giving way to Teddy Bridgewater. The Jets don't seem too worried about taking a look at 39-year-old Josh McCown, who played one drive in the first week of the preseason. All three quarterbacks are still considered to be in the running for the starting job, though recent signs point to Darnold getting the Week 1 nod.

Taylor, who is dealing with a sore left wrist, also suffered a dislocated pinky during Thursday night's preseason game against the Eagles, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

Initial X-rays on the QB's hand/wrist area came up negative, but Taylor still has further exams on tap. For now, the Browns expect Taylor to be okay after Thursday's injury scare, a notion supported by the fact that signal-caller re-entered the contest.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones doesn't expect Prescott to play in Sunday's preseason game against the Cardinals, Kate Hairopoulos of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Prescott played in both of the Cowboys' first two preseason games, completing 13 of 18 passes for 125 yards and two touchdowns across four drives. Coach Jason Garrett will make the final decision for Sunday's game, but Jones is probably correct that Prescott has already taken enough snaps this preseason.

Coach Hue Jackson said he is "comfortable and confident" Taylor (hand) will be okay, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports. "Anytime your quarterback gets nicked like that, you're always concerned," Jackson said. "But I think the fact that he was able to go back in the game, that was a good sign. I feel comfortable and confident that he's going to be OK and that we'll have him."

Taylor immediately ran to the sideline after an awkward landing on his left hand during Thursday's preseason game against Philadelphia. He only missed two drives and returned to finish out the first half, but he then spent the second half in the locker room receiving treatment on his hand/wrist. Initial X-rays came back negative and there should be another update available after Taylor undergoes further testing Friday. Regardless of the results, he's unlikely to play in the Browns' preseason finale, instead turning his focus toward Week 1 against the Steelers.

Mayfield cleared concussion tests during Thursday's 5-0 preseason win over the Eagles, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

An independent neurologist called for Mayfield to be evaluated for a concussion after the quarterback hit his head on a teammate while trying to chase down a defender on an interception during the fourth quarter. The rookie passed the test and was given medical clearance to return, but Browns coach Hue Jackson decided he'd already seen enough by that point, allowing Drew Stanton to close out the game. Mayfield finished the night 8-of-12 passing for 76 yards and the aforementioned pick, adding 10 yards on three carries. Meanwhile, starting quarterback Tyrod Taylor was pulled from the game in the first quarter with a wrist injury, but he returned in the second quarter and finished out the half. Taylor is scheduled for additional testing Friday, after receiving good news from X-rays on Thursday.

X-rays on Taylor's left hand came back negative, but he will be sent for further testing Friday, Tom Withers of the Associated Press reports.

That Taylor was able to re-enter Thursday's game after having his wrist bent back at the end of a scramble is encouraging, but the Browns will do their due diligence and send their starter in for further testing. Once those test results come back, Taylor's availability for Week 1 will come into focus. He's unlikely to play in the final week of the preseason even if he's healthy enough to do so.
