Dorian Thompson-Robinson QB | PHI
Eagles' Dorian Thompson-Robinson: Unimpressive in Saturday's start
Thompson-Robinson completed five of eight passes for 17 yards and an interception in Saturday's 22-13 preseason loss to the Browns.
Facing the team that selected him in the fifth round of the 2023 Draft, Thompson-Robinson got the start but split drives with 2025 sixth-round pick Kyle McCord as the game progressed. Neither quarterback was able to get much going -- the Eagles had only 88 yards of total offense on the afternoon, and one of their two touchdowns came on a pick-six by rookie safety Andrew Mukuba. DTR isn't going to unseat Jalen Hurts or Tanner McKee at the top of the depth chart, and his hold on the No. 3 spot could be tenuous if Philly views McCord as the better developmental project.

Quinn Ewers QB | MIA
Dolphins' Quinn Ewers: Bounces back vs. Lions
Ewers completed 11 of 17 pass attempts for 116 yards and two touchdowns during Saturday's 24-17 preseason win over Detroit.
Ewers bounced back from a rough preseason debut by tossing two touchdowns against the Lions, both of which came in the form of connections to Theo Wease (6-80-2). Arguably Ewers' highlight of the day came in the form of a third-down connection to AJ Henning in the fourth quarter, in which the rookie seventh-round pick connected on a tight window slant that had essentially no room for error. Zach Wilson started Saturday but struggled more than his passing line (15-for-23, 151 yards, one score) might let on. Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel said he won't "overreact to results" after just one preseason showing, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports, but Ewers' strong performance might provide him an opportunity to push Wilson for the backup gig behind Tua Tagovailoa if he can finish strong during Miami's exhibition finale against the Jaguars next Saturday.

Zach Wilson QB | MIA
Dolphins' Zach Wilson: Tosses one TD in preseason win
Wilson completed 15 of 23 pass attempts for 151 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 24-17 preseason win over the Lions.
Wilson turned in a mixed performance Saturday, highlighted by his first-quarter TD pass to Dee Eskridge, though he also underthrew Eskridge in the second quarter while attempting to connect on a deep pass and was nearly intercepted. He also whiffed on what would have been a TD pass to Tarik Black in the back of the end zone in the first quarter, with that drive ending via a fourth-down sack. In all, Wilson was clearly outshined by Quinn Ewers (11-for-17, 116 yards, two scores), and though coach Mike McDaniel said he's "not going to overreact to results" after one exhibition contest, per Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com, the backup gig behind Tua Tagovailoa may now be a closer competition heading into Miami's preseason finale against the Jaguars next Saturday.

Dillon Gabriel QB | CLE
Browns' Dillon Gabriel: Two turnovers in Saturday's start
Gabriel completed 13 of 18 passes for 143 yards and an interception in Saturday's 22-13 preseason win over the Eagles. He also gained one yard and lost a fumble on two carries.
The 2025 third-round pick looked good at times while playing the entire first half for the Browns, leading the team to three scores on five possessions, but he also made a poor decision on a pick-six that snuffed out a drive deep in Philly territory in the first quarter and botched a handoff to Pierre Strong in the second. Gabriel will continue to get valuable reps while Kenny Pickett (hamstring) and Shedeur Sanders (oblique) are sidelined, but based on Saturday's performance, he's still a long way from unseating Joe Flacco for the top spot on the quarterback depth chart.

Russell Wilson QB | NYG
Giants' Russell Wilson: Warming up to start Saturday
Wilson is warming up and appears to be in line to start Saturday's preseason game against the Jets, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
Wilson is warming up alongside wide receivers Wan'Dale Robinson, Darius Slayton (undisclosed) and Jalin Hyatt (undisclosed), who all look set to join him on the field Saturday, though Malik Nabers (toe/shoulder) is dressed in street clothes. Wilson completed six of seven passes for 28 yards during New York's preseason opener against the Bills, and he'll now look to prove up to the challenge presented by the Jets' stout secondary.

Malik Willis QB | GB
Packers' Malik Willis: Extended work as starter Saturday
Willis completed six of 14 passes for 83 yards in the Packers' 23-19 preseason win over the Colts on Saturday afternoon.
Willis drew the start for Jordan Love (thumb) and played the first three possessions. The veteran backup was lacking in efficiency, but he did record 21- and 33-yard completions to Mecole Hardman and MarShawn Lloyd, respectively, and also saw a 31-yard connection with Julian Hicks wiped out by an offensive holding penalty. Willis appears secure in his No. 2 role behind Love, who's expected to be ready for Week 1 after undergoing surgery Tuesday on his ulnar collateral ligament.

Anthony Richardson QB | IND
Colts' Anthony Richardson: Solid following Jones in loss
Richardson completed six of 11 passes for 73 yards and rushed once for nine yards in the Colts' 23-19 preseason loss to the Packers on Saturday afternoon.
Richardson had some additional pressure coming into the game after Daniel Jones finished off his time in the contest with a sharp drive, but the third-year signal-caller responded by leading a 12-play, 90-yard scoring march that culminated in a three-yard touchdown run by Tyler Goodson. The 2023 first-round pick had five completions during the possession, including 21- and 18-yard connections with Drew Ogletree and Ashton Dulin, respectively, on consecutive plays. Richardson's second and final drive also resulted in points -- via a field goal -- despite him going just 1-for-4 through the air, as the Colts gained possession on the Packers' 22-yard line following a fumble recovery. With both quarterbacks apparently very close in their job battle, next Saturday's road preseason finale might serve as the final installment in the competition between Jones and Richardson to open the regular season as the starting signal-caller.

Daniel Jones QB | IND
Colts' Daniel Jones: Sharp in preseason start
Jones completed seven of 11 passes for 101 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions and netted no gain on one carry in the Colts' 23-19 preseason loss to the Packers on Saturday afternoon. He also fumbled once but recovered.
Per Kevin Bowen of 107.5 The Fan, Jones' afternoon didn't exactly get off to an encouraging start considering he missed an open Tyler Warren on a third-down pass that was overthrown. However, the veteran was much sharper on his second possession, helming an 11-play, 77-yard march on which he had a big 23-yard completion wiped out by an offensive holding penalty against Adonai Mitchell. Jones completed passes to four different targets, with the highlights being 22- and 25-yard connections to Michael Pittman and Warren, respectively. Anthony Richardson also put some good play on film following Jones' time in the contest, so it remains to be seen if next Saturday's preseason finale at Cincinnati will serve as the final proving ground for both players in their battle for the No. 1 quarterback job.

Andy Dalton QB | CAR
Panthers' Andy Dalton: Managing elbow sprain
Panthers head coach Dave Canales said Saturday that Dalton has been diagnosed with an elbow sprain, David Newton of ESPN.com reports.
Canales said Dalton told him he feels OK after having been forced out of Saturday's 20-3 preseason loss against the Texans, but the veteran quarterback will undergo further medical testing Sunday. If Dalton is unavailable for any stretch of time, including Carolina's preseason finale against the Steelers on Thursday, Aug. 21, Jack Plummer will step up as the primary backup to Bryce Young.

C.J. Stroud QB | HOU
Texans' C.J. Stroud: Sharp on two drives Saturday
Stroud completed six of eight passes for 44 yards with a touchdown and no interceptions in the Texans' 20-3 preseason win over the Panthers on Saturday afternoon.
Stroud played the first two series, getting his first taste of running new coordinator Nick Caley's offense in game action. The third-year signal-caller was impressive with his opportunity, benefiting from good protection and hitting Nico Collins with a fourth-down touchdown pass of five yards to cap off a crisp 11-play, 60-yard march during which he completed passes to four different targets. Stroud certainly got quality work in Saturday, so it remains to be seen if he'll log any snaps during the preseason finale against the Lions on the road next Saturday.
