  • Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes: Set for full practice Wednesday

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said that Mahomes (ankle) will be a full participant in Wednesday's practice, Adam Teicher of ESPN.com reports.

Mahomes had a bit of a scare in Monday's 30-24 overtime win over the Buccaneers, as he appeared to roll his left ankle during his second touchdown pass of the game early in the fourth quarter. Though he required assistance off the field, Mahomes was able to return for the Chiefs' next possession and didn't wind up missing any snaps on the night, despite having to play through some pain the rest of the way. With further evaluation after the game apparently turning up nothing concerning, Mahomes doesn't look as though he'll face any limitations heading into the Chiefs' Week 10 game against the Broncos on Sunday.

  • C.J. Beathard QB | JAC

Jaguars' C.J. Beathard: Moving back to Jacksonville

Beathard signed with the Jaguars' 53-man roster Wednesday.

Beathard was on the Dolphins' practice squad before the move and will provide quarterback depth for Jacksonville while Trevor Lawrence nurses a shoulder injury. The Iowa product was with the Jaguars during training camp and appeared in seven games for the team last season. If Lawrence is unable to play Sunday against the Vikings, Beathard would likely operate as the No. 2 quarterback, behind Mac Jones.

  • Jaguars' Trevor Lawrence: Nursing sore shoulder

Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson said that Lawrence is dealing with a sore left shoulder and will be a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com reports.

Lawrence is tending to the injury to his non-throwing shoulder after getting banged up on a hit during the first half of this past Sunday's 28-23 loss to the Eagles. The issue didn't result in Lawrence missing any snaps, but with the signal-caller's practice reps being capped to begin Week 10 prep, Pederson said that it was too early to say that Lawrence will start this Sunday's game against the Vikings, per DiRocco. The Jaguars signed C.J. Beathard off the Dolphins' practice squad earlier Wednesday to provide insurance at quarterback behind Lawrence, though Pederson noted that Mac Jones remains the top backup and would start if Lawrence can't play.

  • Jaguars' Trevor Lawrence: May be hurting heading into Week 10

Lawrence admitted after Sunday's 28-23 loss to the Eagles that he was banged up and feeling sore during the game, and his activity in practice in Week 10 could be affected as a result, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Lawrence was examined at halftime after taking a hit on a run earlier in the contest, but he didn't miss a snap in the loss and finished with 16 completions on 31 attempts for 169 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions while carrying five times for eight yards and two scores. Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson is expected to shed more light on Lawrence's health when he speaks to the media later Wednesday, but Jacksonville's signing of C.J. Beathard off the Dolphins' practice squad could point to some level of concern about Lawrence's availability heading into this Sunday's game against the Vikings. Mac Jones has served as Lawrence's backup all season and would presumably draw the starting nod in Week 10 if Lawrence is unable to play versus Minnesota.

  • Lamar Jackson QB | BAL

Ravens' Lamar Jackson: Misses practice, but should play

Jackson didn't participate in Tuesday's practice due to a knee injury.

In Week 9, Jackson sat out practices Wednesday and Thursday with knee and back injuries, but he put in a full practice Friday before lighting up the Broncos in Sunday's 41-10 win. Though he was removed early amid the blowout and finished with his fewest carries of the season (three) while throwing just 19 passes, Jackson is apparently still bothered by the knee issue coming off the light workload. Tuesday represents the Ravens' only full practice of the week prior to Thursday's game against the Bengals, but head coach John Harbaugh suggested that Jackson is in no danger of missing the Week 10 contest, per Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com.

  • Russell Wilson QB | PIT

Steelers' Russell Wilson: Welcoming new wide receiver

The Steelers added WR Mike Williams via a trade from the Jets on Tuesday, giving Wilson another receiving option, Mike DeFabo of The Athletic reports.

Wilson has fared well in his two starts for Pittsburgh, completing 36 of 57 (63.2 percent) passes for 542 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions while recording 10 yards and another TD on six carries. He will welcome a wide receiver onto the roster that's well suited to his strengths, namely his deep-ball acumen. Williams might need some time to acclimate to a new system, but he should soon join George Pickens and tight end Pat Freiermuth as the team's top downfield options in due time, which could boost Wilson's upside.

  • Trey Lance QB | DAL

Cowboys' Trey Lance: Set to become primary backup

Lance is in line to move up to the No. 2 spot on Dallas' quarterback depth chart, as regular starter Dak Prescott is expected to miss multiple weeks with a hamstring injury, Calvin Watkins of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Per Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, owner Jerry Jones said Tuesday that Prescott was "likely" to be sent to the Cowboys' injured reserve list. In that case, he'd have to miss at least the next four games, during which time Cooper Rush likely would step into a starting role with Lance as his backup.

  • Dak Prescott QB | DAL

Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Likely to go on IR

Cowboys team owner Jerry Jones said Tuesday that Prescott (hamstring) will miss "an extended period of time" and is likely to be placed on injured reserve, Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.

Head coach Mike McCarthy had already announced Monday that Prescott would miss the Cowboys' Week 10 game against the Eagles due to the hamstring injury he suffered in the Week 9 loss to the Falcons, but Jones' comments imply that the franchise quarterback will miss at least three more contests beyond that. Cooper Rush will step in as the Cowboys' new starting quarterback beginning this Sunday, while Trey Lance will move into the backup role. While Jones didn't offer up a clear recovery timeline for Prescott, the 3-5 Cowboys could elect to hold the 31-year-old quarterback out beyond four games if the team finds itself out of playoff contention and begins to prioritize draft position in 2025.

  • Buccaneers' Baker Mayfield: Valiant effort in loss

Mayfield completed 23 of 31 passes for 200 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions and rushed four times for 20 yards in the Buccaneers' 30-24 overtime loss to the Chiefs on Monday night.

Playing with a preseason-like receiver corps that was missing Mike Evans (hamstring), Chris Godwin (IR, ankle) and Jalen McMillan (hamstring), Mayfield put together an admirable effort and came within striking distance of a victory on the road against the defending champions. The 2018 first overall pick battled throughout the night while facing a Chiefs defense that consistently forced short throws, leading to Mayfield's lowest passing yardage total since Week 5 and snapping his three-game streak of 300-yard performances. Mayfield's pair of touchdown tosses went to Cade Otton (11 yards) and Ryan Miller (one yard), the latter coming with 27 seconds remaining in regulation to erase a 24-17 deficit. The veteran signal-caller did extend his streak of games with multiple touchdown passes to six, but he draws another unenviable matchup against the 49ers at home Week 10.

  • Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes: Survives injury scare for OT win

Mahomes completed 34 of 44 pass attempts for 291 yards and three touchdowns while rushing twice for nine yards in Monday's 30-24 overtime win over Tampa Bay.

Mahomes rolled his left ankle while completing a shovel pass for his second passing touchdown of the evening, promptly visiting the medical tent while his teammates celebrated the score. Luckily, the durable signal-caller showed his toughness yet again, returning to the game without missing a play in a successful effort to finish off the Buccaneers in overtime. With a short week ahead, fantasy managers should monitor Mahomes' practice participation ahead of a Week 10 matchup against the Broncos.
