  • Will Levis QB | TEN

Titans' Will Levis: Still entrenched as starter

Titans head coach Brian Callahan said Tuesday that Levis (shoulder) will remain Tennessee's starting quarterback after the team's Week 5 bye, as long as he's healthy, Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network reports.

Callahan said "there's no controversy, no second guessing" regarding Levis' standing as QB1, despite the fact that Mason Rudolph competently piloted the Titans to a 31-12 win over the Dolphins on Monday as his replacement. Levis departed early due to a shoulder injury sustained as he dove for a first down. While he's still slated for an MRI, Callahan said the quarterback is currently only sore, per Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site, and that his difficulty throwing on the sideline Monday informed the team's decision not to have him re-enter the game. Levis will benefit from an extra week of rest before the team faces the Bills in Week 6.

  • Aaron Rodgers QB | PIT

Jets' Aaron Rodgers: Dealing with knee swelling

Rodgers (leg) said Tuesday on the Pat McAfee Show that his knee feels swollen in the aftermath of Sunday's 10-9 loss to the Broncos, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.

Rodgers said he's "feeling a little banged up" and his "knee is a little swollen" following a Week 4 loss in wet conditions. The veteran quarterback was sacked five times by Denver and could be seen moving gingerly in the second half. Though Rodgers said after the contest that both his legs were hurt, Jets head coach Robert Saleh downplayed any serious concerns. Wednesday's first official injury report of Week 5 will reveal more about Rodgers' health heading into a road matchup against the Vikings' intimidating defense this Sunday, but there aren't any indications that the 40-year-old is dealing with anything that would keep him sidelined.

  • Steelers' Justin Fields: Remains starter

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said Tuesday he's preparing for Fields to start versus the Cowboys on Sunday Night Football, Teresa Varley of the team's official site reports.

Fields nearly led a Pittsburgh comeback during last week's 27-24 loss to the Colts, showcasing his playmaking ability both through the air and on the ground. Tomlin noted that Russell Wilson (calf) will resume handling team drills in practice this week, per Ray Fittipaldo of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, a development that constitutes notable progress in the veteran's recovery from a lingering calf strain. It remains to be seen whether Wilson will manage to gain full clearance for Week 5, but when that does occur Fields will find himself with less margin for error under center.

  • Russell Wilson QB | NYG

Steelers' Russell Wilson: Ready to ramp up activity

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said Tuesday that Wilson (calf) will have a "strong work day" at practice including reps from a live pocket, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports.

Tomlin said he's still preparing for Justin Fields to start Sunday's game against the Cowboys, per Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site, but it sounds like Wilson will be closer to being cleared for the official backup role in Week 5, rather than having to act as Pittsburgh's emergency No. 3 quarterback for a fifth straight contest. Returning to 11-on-11 reps represents a notable step in the right direction for Wilson, who has yet to put any pressure on Fields as the starter. Tomlin's comments indicate Wilson has been limited to 7-on-7 work at practice in recent weeks. Wednesday's first official injury report of Week 5 will reveal whether Wilson has managed to upgrade to 'full' practice status, or whether the veteran signal-caller still officially remains limited.

  • Jared Goff QB | DET

Lions' Jared Goff: Record performance in Week 4 win

Goff completed 18 of 18 pass attempts for 292 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions, caught a seven-yard touchdown pass on his only target and rushed twice for minus-2 yards in the Lions' 42-29 win over the Seahawks on Monday night.

Per Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, Goff became the first quarterback in NFL history to finish a game with a perfect completion percentage on more than 10 attempts and with over 200 passing yards, underscoring how locked in he was during the wild win. The touchdown grab on a Motor City version of the famed Philly Special was an added bonus, with Goff on the receiving end of an Amon-Ra St. Brown pass just past the midway point of the third quarter. Goff also connected with St. Brown for an eight-yard touchdown toss, but the biggest play of his night was a 70-yard scoring strike to Jameson Williams late in the third quarter that extended a 28-20 lead. Goff now has back-to-back two-touchdown-pass tallies heading into a Week 5 bye, and he should be in store for another busy day when Detroit returns to action on the road against the Cowboys on Sunday, Oct. 13.

  • Geno Smith QB | NYJ

Seahawks' Geno Smith: Sets career highs on MNF

Smith completed 38 of 56 pass attempts for 395 yards, one touchdown and one interception while rushing five times for 28 yards in Monday's 42-29 loss to the Lions.

Smith set career highs in passing attempts, completions and yards in a desperate attempt to keep the Seahawks afloat against a flawless Lions squad on Monday Night Football. The end result was positive for fantasy managers after the veteran QB threw for 300-plus yards for the second time in three weeks. Smith has struggled from a touchdown to turnover standpoint, throwing four of both through four games in 2024. The 3-1 Seahawks will set their sights on the Giants in a home matchup Sunday.

  • Mason Rudolph QB | PIT

Titans' Mason Rudolph: Wins after replacing injured Levis

Rudolph completed nine of 17 passes for 85 yards, without a touchdown or interception, after replacing an injured Will Levis (shoulder) in the first quarter of Monday's 31-12 win over the Dolphins.

Rudolph's turnover-free football was a breath of fresh air as the Titans rode their defense and running game to their first win of the season. Coach Brian Callahan said after the game that the decision to ride Rudolph was purely injury-related, per Turron Davenport of ESPN.com. With a Week 5 bye to recover, Levis likely will reclaim the starting job Week 6 against the Colts. Levis threw his sixth interception of the season prior to getting hurt, so his leash may be getting shorter, though Rudolph didn't exactly light it up Monday.

  • Tyler Huntley QB | BAL

Dolphins' Tyler Huntley: Lackluster performance in debut

Huntley completed 14 of 22 passes for 96 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions and added eight carries for 40 yards and one score in the Dolphins' 31-12 loss to the Titans on Monday night. He also lost a fumble and caused a safety with an intentional grounding penalty in the end zone.

Huntley admittedly didn't have much time to familiarize himself with head coach Mike McDaniel's complex offensive scheme, but there's no getting around the fact he averaged a meager 4.4 yards per attempt and struggled mightily as a passer. Huntley did contribute plenty with his signature rushing ability, running in the Dolphins' only touchdown of the night on a one-yard run with 3:36 remaining. Huntley's first-quarter fumble didn't lead to any Titans points but did occur in Tennessee territory, short-circuiting what could have been a point-producing possession for Miami. Huntley should be more acclimated to the scheme and his talented group of skill-position weapons by the time Sunday's divisional road clash against the Patriots kicks off, but it remains to be seen if it will be him or Skylar Thompson (ribs) who draws the start for that game.

  • Will Levis QB | TEN

Titans' Will Levis: Slated for MRI

Levis (shoulder) is expected to undergo an MRI after being unable to return to Monday's game against the Dolphins, Terry McCormick of TitanInsider.com reports.

When he's healthy, Levis is expected to remain Tennessee's starter under center, according to head coach Brian Callahan. Levis went down early in Monday's contest due to a right shoulder injury and subsequently was replaced by Mason Rudolph, who led the team to a 31-12 victory. More clarity on Levis' status may come following the results of his MRI.

  • Will Levis QB | TEN

Titans' Will Levis: Departs with shoulder injury

Levis exited Monday's game at Miami due to a right shoulder injury and is questionable to return, John Glennon of NashvillePost.com reports.

On the Titans' second possession of Week 4, Levis scrambled for three yards and then was seen having his right shoulder looked at on the sideline. He made some throws before backup Mason Rudolph took over for Levis on the team's next drive, and Levis visited the medical tent before he was seen on the bench with a team trainer.
