  • Jaren Hall QB | SEA

Vikings' Jaren Hall: Not on injury report

Hall is not on the injury report for Minnesota's game against the Chiefs on Sunday.

Hall served as the team's emergency quarterback last week after previously missing practice while tending to a personal matter. With Nick Mullens dealing with a back injury, Hall could potentially be called upon to serve as the backup to Kirk Cousins on Sunday.

  • Rams' Matthew Stafford: In line for full practice

Head coach Sean McVay said Wednesday that Stafford (hip) is slated to be a full practice participant, Greg Beacham of the Associated Press reports. "He's full go," McVay added. "He's as tough as it gets. We're not going to be running any zone read or anything like that, so he'll be in good shape."

Stafford played through a hip injury during this past Sunday's overtime win at Indianapolis. On Monday, McVay clarified that Stafford was dealing with a bruised hip, per Adam Grosbard of The Orange County Register. Despite the health concern, both quarterback and coach seem confident that Stafford will be able to play Sunday against the Eagles. A full practice Wednesday would set Stafford on a path to being able to do so.

  • Kenny Pickett QB | CAR

Steelers' Kenny Pickett: Limited at practice

Pickett (knee) was a limited practice participant Wednesday, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports.

Pickett sustained a bone bruise to his left knee during this past Sunday's loss to the Texans, but he said Wednesday that he anticipates playing against the Ravens this weekend. An upgrade to full practice participation Thursday or Friday would confirm Pickett is good to go for Sunday, while a setback or downgrade in practice activity would open the door for Mitch Trubisky to make his first start of the season. Pickett's poor performance through the Steelers' first four games suggests Trubisky could get a look as a starter at some point later this season even if his second-year teammate is able to play through the bone bruise and otherwise stays healthy.

  • Sam Ehlinger QB | DEN

Colts' Sam Ehlinger: Moves past shoulder issue

Ehlinger wasn't listed Wednesday on the Colts' first Week 5 injury report.

Ehlinger was listed as questionable ahead of last week's game against the Rams due to a right shoulder injury. He was ultimately inactive for the Colts' 29-23 overtime loss, but that might have had more to do with his standing as Indianapolis' No. 3 quarterback behind Anthony Richardson and Gardner Minshew than because of the injury. Now that he's off the injury report entirely, Ehlinger should be in the clear for Sunday's game against the Titans, though he might be a healthy inactive this time around.

  • Derek Carr QB | NO

    Saints' Derek Carr: Limited Wednesday

Head coach Dennis Allen said that Carr (shoulder) was a limited participant at Wednesday's practice, John Hendrix of SI.com reports.

Allen added that Carr "threw a little bit more" and that "things look good in terms of where he's at heading into this week." Those comments suggest Carr came out of Sunday's loss to the Buccaneers without aggravating the AC joint sprain in his right throwing shoulder. In the end, though, he may have a cap on his practice reps until he's able to put the injury in the rear-view mirror.

  • Kenny Pickett QB | CAR

Steelers' Kenny Pickett: Believes he'll play Sunday

Pickett (knee), who took part in practice Wednesday, said that he expects to be available for Sunday's game against the Ravens, Dale Lolley of the Steelers' official site reports.

The Steelers will release their first Week 5 practice report later Wednesday and reveal the extent of Pickett's involvement in the session, but at this stage, the second-year quarterback looks like he'll be able to play through the bone bruise in his left knee. Per Lolley, Pickett sported a brace on his knee during Wednesday's session, but he was wearing the accessory as a precautionary measure.

  • Joe Burrow QB | CIN

Bengals' Joe Burrow: Feeling better than last week

Burrow said Wednesday that he's feeling better than he did the past few weeks while playing through a calf injury, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Burrow and head coach Zac Taylor both have confirmed this week that they plan for the quarterback to continue playing through the calf injury that he originally suffered during the first week of training camp. The 26-year-old noted Wednesday that he aggravated the calf injury a couple weeks ago and has struggled ever since, though he also noted that he's "optimistic" about regaining his mobility soon. He'll start Sunday's game in Arizona unless he experiences some kind of drastic setback during practice this week.

  • Trevor Siemian QB | ATL

Trevor Siemian: Remaining on practice squad Week 5

Jets head coach Robert Saleh said Siemian will remain on the practice squad and won't be activated for Sunday's game against the Broncos, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.

Siemian was signed to the practice squad prior to New York's Week 4 loss to Kansas City, but he's still in need of more time to get acclimated to his new surroundings. Tim Boyle will remain the backup to Zach Wilson in Week 5 against Denver, and Wilson likely bought himself additional job security atop the depth chart with his promising performance in Sunday's three-point loss to the Chiefs (245 yards, two touchdowns, one lost fumble).

  • Deshaun Watson QB | CLE

Browns' Deshaun Watson: Should be ready after bye week

General manager Andrew Berry reiterated Wednesday that Watson's bruised right shoulder isn't a long-term concern, and the quarterback is expected to be ready to play Oct. 15 against the 49ers following the Browns' Week 5 bye, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.

Berry's assessment of Watson's health essentially matches what Kevin Stefanski said on Monday, when the head coach noted that Watson had been medically cleared in advance of this past Sunday's 28-3 loss to the Ravens. Watson, however, made the decision to hold himself out of the contest after testing out his shoulder in pregame warmups and determining that he didn't think he could play at a winning level, per Tom Withers of the Associated Press. Rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson ended up getting the start in Watson's stead but struggled mightily, as the Browns generated just 166 yards of offense across 65 plays. The bye week comes at a convenient time for Watson, with Berry noting that the shoulder injury "will heal in the short term" and isn't expected to be a factor when the Browns return to action Week 6, per Jake Trotter of ESPN.com.

  • Deshaun Watson QB | CLE

Browns' Deshaun Watson: Was medically cleared for Week 4

Cleveland head coach Kevin Stefanski said Monday that Watson (shoulder) was medically cleared in advance Sunday's 28-3 loss to the Ravens, but the quarterback wasn't comfortable playing through the injury, Zac Jackson of The Athletic reports.

Rookie backup quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson ended up getting the start in place of Watson and struggled to move the offense throughout the day. Stefanski backed up his medical staff's assessment of Watson's shoulder while also acknowledging that the signal-caller knows his body. All signs pointed to the team believing Watson would be available, and the impression is that the Browns were caught off guard by Watson's decision. Stefanski said following Sunday's loss that the quarterback should be ready to go Week 6 against San Francisco following the team's bye week.
